A person willing to take on challenges and has a can do attitude.  I started as an AS/400 programmer using RPG and LANSA.  When the opportunity came I ventured into Java which peaked my interest to develop web applications.  I’ve been in the IT field as a developer which consists of regular maintenance fixes to creating new applications for over 12 + years and have 5 + years experience using Java.  I’ve been exposed to the consulting field which allowed me to learn new technologies which gave me the experience needed to take on new responsibilities and technologies.  I also took part in volunteer work to expand my experience and allow me to work and communicate with clients to build robust applications.

Amica has been providing high quality insurance in auto, home, umbrella, marine, and life for over 100 years.  They have been recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for both auto and home customer satisfaction.

Accomplishments

·         Converted an existing service provider web application from classic ASP using an Access Database to Java for backend logic, ExtJS for the UI and DB2 for the database.  Performed the design, coding and implementation to production.  This application is used to maintain Amica’s mortgagee companies that are used to send EDI transfers to a 3^rd party vendor and also used for our home policies for mortgagee information.  Performed phase 2 to this project by converting all backend code to use web service integration using JAXWS that is used by Amica’s enterprise application.  All information that is updated is published and the web service code is listening for messages on a queue to take the published XML file layout and convert that XML to the web service schema objects to then update the DB2 database. 

·         Using the Amica Java framework and IBM Rational Host Access Transformation Services to transform legacy green screen to a web based UI.  By modifying property files with the coordinates of the green screen fields determines how the data is going to be captured for the green screen fields.  The data is stored in DB2 tables that are configured to represent the green screen fields which are used for the jsp.  

·         Maintained a web service that allowed the state of Nevada and Wyoming to be able to submit a VIN number and the service will return a code to determine if the driver has coverage with Amica.

·         Modified a web application that sends a flat file to a message queue that is used by the legacy backend programs to process the data to return back another flat file.  That flat file is broken down by a property file that provides the placement on were the data is positioned in the flat file for the jsp to present that information.

·         Was responsible on upgrading the current IBM RAD and HATS application to the next supported release and provide support to client server group to make sure the web application runs on multiple servers.

MNS was a consulting firm that specializes in building highly scalable web-based applications using the ATG framework to extend functionality for the client’s needs.  We also wrote integrations using the framework provided by ATG.

Accomplishments

·         Concentrated on the content administration piece of the ATG software by extending the out of the box functionality to tailor to the needs of Upromise.

·         Provided a lock/unlock feature within the setting up of projects within content administration which allowed the front end team to lock a project for them to provide their web content so no other uses can overwrite the same pages until the user is finished with that project by unlocking the project.  Also provided an upload feature for the web front end developers to send the files to a server using the java.io FileInput and FileOutputStream.

·         Help develop a new application using the ATG framework to replace a PHP application for the Upromise shopping mall experience.

Accomplishments

·         Working with the content administration piece of ATG. Concentrated on the content administration piece of the ATG software by extending the out of the box functionality to tailor to the needs of Cushman & Wakefield.

·         By using the BCC (Business Control Center) which is a tool to manipulate the repository objects within ATG, added the support for 4 new countries and their translations.  To capture the repository data objects ATG provides a framework called RQL to be used in the jsp or backend Java code to capture that data.

·         All deployments used ANT scripts to bundle the modules needed for the ATG software to run on the servers.

Accomplishments

·         The projects were enhancements to the pension application which consisted of sending an email message to the Webmaster if an application error was rendered.  Taking a Lotus Notes page and converting that to a jsp.  Allowing the Webmaster to choose files to be uploaded to a server using SFTP with Java.

Accomplishments

·         Supported/Maintained corporate cash management web application that S1 supported for Bank of America by enhancing the upload of text files to import multimillion dollar transactions via the account transfer section of the application.  Also supported a release that was to stabilize the software.

·         Lead role for EFD project (Electronic File Distribution) for Bank of America International business.  This was adding new functionality to support the different versions of files for the new supported countries.

Owned by Blyth, Inc, it’s a direct marketing company that sells candles and accessories at home parties.  The home parties are requested by the host and the demonstration/show of the product is performed by independent consultants.  The company is world wide and the headquarters are in Plymouth, MA.  The web site is a tool for the consultants to be able to enter their home party orders via the internet instead of faxing or mailing the orders into the main office before the application was developed.  The web application would gather all the internet orders and on a schedule time those orders would be released to the in house developed order processing system where the processing of receiving the order, controlling inventory, and then sending the order to the distribution center for shipment.
