·         Served as Project Leader and database performance engineer on the successful UNIX/Informix-XPS 8.3 TPC-H Specification 1-Terabyte Scale Factor benchmark effort utilizing an Alphaserver GS140 8-node Cluster. This world’s first result held the world TPC-H record for the 1-Terabyte result for six months.
·         My Informix engineering efforts involved heavy technical work with regard to Compaq Tru64 UNIX system upgrades, Compaq TruCluster Software upgrades, Informix-XPS server installations, Informix-XPS database server performance monitoring and tuning, and working directly with Informix benchmark technical support on a number of related issues.
·         Served as a team member on a UNIX/Oracle 8.0.4 TPC-C performance engineering effort, and on a Windows NT/Oracle 8.0.3 TPC-C performance engineering effort.
·         Served as an audit team performance advisor on several UNIX/Sybase Adaptive Server TPC-C benchmark audits, reviewing the system and database configuration, and making recommendations for improved OLTP performance and scalability.
·         Acted as Project Leader and Database Performance Engineer on three Windows NT / MS SQL Server TPC-C (OLTP) benchmark audits. Each benchmark produced a leading TPM/C number at the time the benchmark was completed. This effort involved setting up the 4-cpu, 3GB RAM server with hardware engineers, installing the Windows NT 4.0 Operating System, MS SQL Server and all service packs, laying out the database, loading the database (50+ GB databases), setting up the client machines and client software environment, setting up the Remote Terminal Emulator system, tuning the entire server environment for peak client/server database performance results, and then performing the benchmark audit for officially published results.
