Senior Software Engineer / Senior
Architect - (June 2001 – September 2002)
Senior Consultant / Architect – Soltech Inc. (October 99 - May 2001) – Converted to TRX employee.
Authored an XML-driven workflow
system. Using Java, JMS, EJBs, and a
workflow definition, this “engine” executes steps (java business objects) in
the workflow. Jython allows steps to be
written as scripts by subject matter experts (SMEs). Some services provided are tracing/debugging,
transaction demarcation, database access, and metrics.
Authored a travel industry generic
API. The tool shields developers from
specific command knowledge and parsing details related to a number of
reservation systems such as WorldSpan and Sabre. This Java translator/parser tool uses a
combination of EJBs and interacts with a repository of commands and XML parsing
rules to translate requests and parse GDS results. Also created an administrator’s GUI
application to create/maintain/test commands/ parsing rules.
Using this architecture and its workflow
and translator/parser components, Trx processes record numbers of tickets every
month. Use of standard and J2EE design
patterns make it flexible, extensible and reusable. The architecture provides management with
real-time decision-support information and is now at the core of all Trx
applications.
Tools:
J2EE; EJB (session, CMP entity, and
message-driven); BEA WebLogic Server 6.x; Windows and Solaris; RMI; JNDI; JMS;
UML; TogetherSoft 6.x/5.x/4x/3.x; JBuilder 6.x/5.x/4.x/3.x; Eclipse 2.x;

JUnit; XML (JAXP/DOM/SAX/XSL-XSLT/DTD), XML Spy 4.x; Oracle 7.x/8.x; PL/SQL
