TYES is a centralized, computerized yard inventory system providing accurate,
timely reports on car & train movements. As a phase of migration from VB6
to VB2005, I developed a windows based application in VB2005 that would be
launched when a user entered command line parameters. Based on the parameters
passed, the application would retrieve values from the database, and launch
either a vb6 ocx, pasted on a vb6 form, or a vb.net dll, pasted on a vb2005
form, with which the user would interact with.

“FOCUS
Project Portfolio Management” is a
web-based tool used for collecting knowledge about the projects and systems
within the company. I developed four major modules using VBScript, JavaScript,
VB com technology in an ASP / SQL Server 2000 environment that would allow
project sponsors to track project metrics for each project (total annualized
benefit once a project has been completed, the target benefit to achieve by
completing the project). This is a mission critical application also used by
the CIO. Project documentation was non existent, and I was responsible for
familiarizing myself with the project code and business rules.
-
Designed & developed an
enterprise wide role based security for “FOCUS”,
using ASP, SQL stored procedures and views. This allowed project managers to be
in control of the status of their projects, request additional resources from
corresponding Resource Managers and monitor funding levels. Related team
members would be allowed to update their individual project status. The
application is currently being used by approximately 1500 employees throughout
the enterprise.
-
Developed an email notification
component, which would send an email to Resource Managers and cc the Project
Manager, when a project manager had requested resources, and the system would
send an email to Project Manager and cc the Resource Manager, when the resource
allocation was accepted.
-
Developed SQL scripts to move
database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, udf’s which I developed or
enhanced) to staging and production servers.

-
Developed two major web pages “Brokerage Account Conversion” and
“Summary Statement” for a
pre-existing application “SNAP”.
This application was designed for SunTrust
Securities, to eliminate the need for filling out paper, and
maintaining all records electronically, and is used by over 1200 field agents.
Project business rules were undocumented, and I was responsible for developing
the two web pages with minimal business knowledge, and project guidance. The
application was a 3 tier architecture environment, involved developing the web
page in ASP (VBScript, HTML) using Visual Interdev, creating data validations
in JavaScript, creating a processor page in VBScript, which would pass values
to a COM dll. I developed and modified COM components in VB6, registered them
in Windows 2000 using MTS COM+ and developed nested Stored Procedures in SQL
Server 2000 which in turn would read / write data values from the COM objects
to the database and vice versa. Interdev code was archived in Visual Source
Safe. I was also responsible for creating a detailed design document reflecting
all the new functionality implemented and for supporting the complete
application when moved to the production environment.
-
Re-designed a data validation web
page using C# 2003 on an existing application called “Compliance Reporting”, which was used to report customer
profile information for regulatory compliance issues. This page forced the user
to enter only valid data (such as Name, Address, Phone #, Account # etc) to be
read and saved into a SQL database, using stored procedures. A separate page
was developed to export data to an excel file or to a web “Print Preview” page.

-
Designed and developed an ASP web
application (Custom 2000) using SQL
Server 2000 database, which allowed all PC users to download new applications
or upgrades to applications currently existing on their local machine based on
Active Directory userID credentials. This was accomplished in a 3 tier
environment, using COM components developed in VB, to read their windows login
id, matched with their group profile in AD. Another VB component was used to
read the local windows registry and eliminate existing software from a list of
recommended applications. My involvement in the project was through the full
development lifecycle including gathering and creation of Business Requirements
and Technical Design documentations, developing UML diagrams, interaction with
customer throughout the lifecycle of the project, providing status updates.
-
Actively participated in
developing a pilot website using a leading web
content management system. This allowed users to check-in web content in
document format that are to be displayed on the corresponding department’s website.
Responsibilities
included analyzing, design and coding web templates for the web content
management developer console.
-

taxonomy.
-
Developed multiple call flow
simulations using Knowlagent™ application tools. The development was done using
VBScript code in a Knowlagent™ development environment, to create a replica of
the Call Center application. The simulations are used to train new Call Center
agents at the Customer Development Center (Tampa) and to update telephone
skills of existing agents involved in beverage sales, equipment service and
product support. As a team leader, my role in this project also involved
interviewing and building a team of developers and a project manager to
efficiently continue managing this project.
-
Designed and developed an ASP web
application (Purchase Order Inquiry),
which displayed details about the status of purchase orders. The procurement
department had an existing Access data entry interface and an Access database
to store the data. They wanted to enable their customers to view the status of
purchase orders via a web page, without modifying the existing Access environment.
The solution was a web application that retrieved data using a stored procedure
from SQL Server 2000, which in turn was refreshed using XML, from Access on a
daily basis. The end user could view purchase orders by entering their Last
name, PO Date or PO Number. Responsibilities also included gathering and
creating Business Requirements and Technical Design documents and interaction
with customer throughout the lifecycle of the project to provide status
updates.
-
Developed workflow process in the
web content management, using iDoc technology, to allow Authors, Supervisor and
Publishers to be able to publish content on Intranet. Users were authenticated
by Active Directory, and were notified about content that was about to expire, and
able to update content based on “One-Click” editing.
