Curriculum Project:

Project Title:             “Computer aided Design of Horizontal Wind Turbine”.









Brief Overview Of Project:

The objective of my project is to design horizontal wind turbine using composite materials. Wind energy is the cheapest and non-exhaustible at all the energies. The turbine is a unit, which converts the kinetic energy of wind into mechanical energy that in turn is converted into electrical energy by using a generator.

The turbine is horizontal axis type because of its advantages over vertical axis type like high velocity of rotation, high power coefficient, high area for inhaling air etc. the material of the parts, is composite because of its improved properties over conventional materials like high strength, high strength-to weight ratio, anti corrosive properties etc. Design of the wind turbine included design of its parts like design of blade, shaft, hub gear, bearings etc. it is designed for 1 kilo watt power and a material is epoxy resin with 0% with 60% volume fraction.
