I2C -Inter IC Controller Implementation using VHDL

I2C is a two-wire, bi-directional serial bus
that provides a simple and efficient method of Data exchange between devices.
The I2C standard is a true multi-master bus including collision
detection and arbitration
Designing an ASIC for a protocol considerably reduces
the execution time when compared to the software design for the purpose. The VLSI design for our project
at the top level is done using VHDL. The code is simulated using Modelsim. The
synthesis toll used is XILINX; the code is completely synthesizable on SPARTAN
II and higher model FPGA.
