Service Advantage Personal Lines Auto system. Modified numerous COBOL batch and online modules in the Personal Lines systems (primarily Service Advantage Auto), learned mainframe Change Control Management tool  ChangeMan and the overall system functionality. This enabled me to ably take on development and unit testing assignments on the project.

     While with Vanguard  Group, developed COBOL/DB2 modules for Defined Benefits and Defined   Contribution Divisions, analyzed user & systems requirements, program development, user acceptance /unit/integration/ application testing and implementation, coding & technical support. Created test plans and test cases as they relate to testing project requirements to ensure the overall  quality of software delivered. Implemented improvements in test methods and strategies.             Participated as a key member of a team in the design, development and implementation of a County

            Financial Reimbursement System. The application included data capture from other systems,

            preparation of  reimbursement formula tables, common utility programs, calculation of various

            reimbursement amounts, online payment user inquiry, online user payment adjustments and payment

            reports. For that purpose developed from scratch several inquiry, update and browse online and

            batch  COBOL VSAM  programs. Reimbursement formulas varied by county and individual
            circumstances and all programs had to accommodate all situations.

 

Reviewed program specifications prior to assignment for completeness and optimum CICS and VSAM  performance. Modified specifications as necessary.

 

Trained and assisted entry-level programmers in use of  ROSCOE, VSAM,
