Microsoft
Windows XP is the most widely distributed and used operating system in the
world. As such, knowing how to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain is
one of the most useful skills in the technological world. This 5-day crass
course was about these skills. Day 1 and 2 focused on hardware and the
components of a PC. We were able to see and interact with the case, power
supply, motherboard (with CPU, expansion slots and more), RAM, hard drives, and
other components and how they fit into a system. In the remaining days, we
learned about the BIOS and ROM components; how to determine if a system is
compatible with Windows XP Professional; how to install it; how to configure
it; how to solve common and not so common problems and how to maintain this
ubiquitous OS.
