ontology-driven federated portal network developed by the nine-university

Projects
Phenomic-Genomic Characterization of Asthma in African Americans Database Administrator
An R00 Grant was awarded to Dr. Adam R.
Davis, Director of Bioinformatics at Morehouse School of Medicine for research
on Phenomic-Genomic Characterization of
Asthma in African Americans. The
goal of the proposed research is to understand the genetic basis of differences
in asthma susceptibility and the clinical course of asthma between populations
of African-American and Caucasian-Americans.
As a Database Administrator I was directly responsible for assisting
with Aim 3 of the grant – 1) identifying a benchmark Electronic Medical Record
(EMR) dataset, 2) extracting, and populating into i2b2 for discovering trends
in the data. Ultimately, the populated
database will provide a large interactive analyses network for predicting
disease outcomes for personalized medicine.
