I have over 15 successful years of information technology
development and general management experience, with the last four years primarily
focused on developing and delivering customized solutions on the SharePoint
server platform. In addition to my
technical experience, I also have human resource management experience as an
Adjutant General Corps Officer in the U.S. Army serving on active duty both
in the U.S. and overseas.

The
SharePoint portal team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and
enhancing a custom contract management application built on the
SharePointserver platform. The production
system resides in Germany and is supported by a geographically separated team
that includes members in Andover, MA, Slidell, LA, St. Louis, MO, Nashville,
TN and Heidelberg, Germany. The solution incorporatesa Business Data Catalog
Application, InfoPath form services, InfoPath forms with custom code behinds,
custom web parts, custom workflows, custom documents built utilizing the Open
XML SDK, SQL Reporting Services and SQL Analysis Services.

- Built a Windows Communication
Foundation (WCF) web service to expose Oracle data as a data source in
SharePoint 2010.
- Modeled and built Business
Connectivity Services (BCS) external content
types.
- Developed InfoPath 2010 forms
that update data in SharePoint 2010 external lists.
- Led the customer through the
validation of the delivery during the User Acceptance Testing period.
- Built a staging test bed with VMware
to replicate the customer’s environment.
The test bed consisted of a series of distributed servers that
included SharePoint web front ends, two SQL server instances, SQL
reporting services, SQL Analysis Services, and a Windows 7 test client
with Kerberos implemented as the authentication protocol within the
domain.
- Installed and administered
Team Foundation Server for the project’s source code and deliverables.
- Built a web part that
provisioned new SharePoint sub sites for new contracts, created relevant
SharePoint groups, modified XML documents via LINQ to XML, dynamically
created BDC applications, ingested Excel spreadsheets and inserted the
data into a database.
- Built a feature that created a
SharePoint timer job that traverses a site and exports specific list
data into a SQL table for processing by the report engine.
- Researched and authored a
white paper on potential Business Intelligence/Reporting options based
on the customer’s environment.

The
SharePoint portal team was responsible for developing solutions on the
SharePoint server platform to support the business requirements of various
contract management teams.

- Worked with the customer
(primarily internal program managers) to capture, define, and refine the
business requirements on an IDIQ contract.
- Transformed the requirements
into a solution design.
- Built a state machine workflow
that governed the bid/no bid process for the contracts based on the
solution.
- Developed custom content types
to drive the workflow and maximize out of the box functionality.
- Developed an Excel spreadsheet
ingest process where the spreadsheet could be uploaded into a document
library and ingested into the back end system.
- Built a custom web part that
merged list data together from several different lists providing greater
visibility of critical data to program managers.

The
SharePoint portal team was responsible for developing, maintaining, and
enhancing a custom contract management application built on the SharePoint
server platform. The solution
incorporated the Business Data Catalog, InfoPath form services, InfoPath
forms with custom code behinds, custom web parts,custom workflows and custom
documents utilizing the OpenXML SDK.

- Mentored and trained two
junior developers to adjust their skill sets to fill gaps in the portal
team’s overall skill set portfolio.
- Developed and implemented a weekly
career development brown bag to facilitate knowledge transfer amongst
the team and to enhance the presentation skills of team members.
- Built an Application
Definition File (ADF) for the Business Data Catalog (BDC) to query data
out of a back end data store using the Microsoft Application Definition
editor.
- Built InfoPath forms with
custom code behind that queried the SharePoint web services and pulled
data out of Business Data Catalog applications.
- Built a custom workflow that
set the audience targeting of list items.
- Built a custom workflow that
moved an InfoPath form through a custom business process.
- Built a workflow that
generated Word documents using the Open XML SDK based off of items in a
list. The document was then taken
offline, processed, and then uploaded into a document library where the
changes were read out of the document and the appropriate actions were
then taken.

Technical Lead – Integrated Data Environment Team

The
Integrated Data Environment Team provides a full range of information
technology support to over 2000+ individuals (600+ contractors, 1400+ customers)
consisting of an extranet and a classified stand alone network that includes
a SharePoint based collaboration portal and various customized line of
business applications developed in ASP.Net and C# with a SQL server back end. The team utilized a development process
that encompassed some spiral methodologies combined with more formal CMMI
processes.

- Led a team of 4 developers that built a web based
application (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server) that
automated a series of legacy financial processes and interfaced with
another back end computer system.
The system improved the customer’s decision making process by
increasing the quality of the data being fed into the system and
improving the transparency of the system.
- Worked
with an internal department to gather requirements, design and build a
travel management software package (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server) that
improved travel budget burn rate visibility and invoice processing
resulting in a top rating for the team during an award fee review
- Designed,
developed and integrated a workflow web service (ASP.NET, C# and SQL
Server) used by several of the applications
- Worked
with the customer to gather requirements, design and develop a software
program (SharePoint Team Services and SQL) that helped reduce contract
modification cycle times by 50% which led to additional work in excess
of $50,000
- Worked
closely with the network team through the testing and deployment phases
of three major migrations including a SharePoint migration, a move to a
SQL server cluster, and a move to an IIS cluster without any unscheduled
outages or data loss
- Provided
support and mentoring to help desk personnel that resulted in consistent
compliments from the customer on the professionalism and responsiveness
of the help desk

and won a $150,000 grant to participate in a multi-national geospatial
interoperability experiment that resulted in Northrop Grumman being
