Role: Senior .Net Web Architect

IMG Associations is an association management company that has provided a full range of management services for prestigious associations for more than 35 years. We are a successful, growing division of IMG, a global corporation known for excellence in events, sports, entertainment, media and association management.  Currently IMG Associations consists of major associations such as: Quest International Users Group (Quest) National Tour Association (NTA), Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), World Religious Travel Association (WRTA), International Spa Association (ISPA), Receptive Services of America (RSAA)

Currently I am the lead .net developer/architect of IMG Associations, consisting of managing the update, development and design of all web and windows based applications, application housing servers and their associated domains for 8 major associations, each ranging in size from 2,000 to 24,000 members.



  
Responsibilities
  
  • Developed Partner to Partner™ from ground up, a social network for the nation's largest tour association, NTA.  Along with integrating and complimenting their existing web site and applications, this new web application allows for members of the association to communicate to each other via several venues:
§  A custom developed messaging/email application displaying all corresponding messages in a reciprocating fashion.  Allows for the same functionality as most web based email providers, as well as notifying the member's preferred email of any messaging activity, customized to their preferences in the profile.
§  Profile display/upload/creation process to allow a more effective search of the member directory by means of database queries into the demographics provided by conditional questions based on a member's type, size, and their targeted audience
§  Interactivity via uploading/sharing/requesting various tour operator/supplier packages to build revenue for the members and the association.  This interactivity included uploading destination imagery (automatically resized for efficient web display), support documentation, and posting all information in query able form to allow other members to search. 
§  RFP (Request for Proposals) submission process, created and designed to build relationships between tour operators and suppliers.
  • Developed various modules and devised specifications of continued development to consume soap/xml interfaces for third party integration with proprietary applications such as NetFORUM, a highly normalized association management database program to increase scalability and customizations.  Created soap integration with companies such as JobTarget, Busrates.com, Sparta Social Networks, Simpleview, as well as integration with many popular web services such as PayPal.com and Amazon Web Services for online stores, secure payment transactions and product advertising. 
  • Created various web services compliant to the latest xml specification to enable third party integration for "Single Sign On" purposes, transaction processing and history, and profile information.  The majority of this included creating custom data access objects to interface with SQL databases to provide data in hierarchal form for ease of use and to ensure data integrity and accurate synchronization.  Along with these web services, I created various encryption methods that utilized current technologies such as RSA, SHA1, and IP verification to help prevent intrusion and increase security to meet PCI compliance.

  • Created an application that dynamically pulls data via web services such as convention registration, user profiles, and membership information, complete with custom Single Sign On integration with NetFORUM to allow buyers and sellers to request appointments with each other in a preferential order.  Using specific business logic to match the association criteria, the application then loops through a complex algorithm to assign appointments to the various buyers and suppliers, taking into consideration the actual schedule of the convention appointment slots, assigning break times, applying specific event business logic, and leaving certain time slots open to primary members based on their request.  This program is setup via a custom developed admin interface to open/close appointment requests to meet association specific convention schedules, manually adjust automated appointments, as well as preset a time to display the results at the association management staff preference.
  • Provided documentation, managed and coordinated multiple website redesigns to assist the various associations to grasp new technologies, integrating with various CMS systems, such as DotNetNuke, Microsoft CMS/SharePoint, integration with SimpleView CMS, as well as custom developed CMS solutions depending on the variance of the client criteria.

  • Work with all clients with systems troubleshooting, developing law compliant account balancing procedures, and upgrading all aspects of “TaxMaster”, a .Net based tax collection/property evaluation web application with SQL backend data manipulation/storage.
  • Provide technical support to customer servers via remote desktop, TCP/IP. Generate custom FTP procedures while coding backup batch files to ensure efficient updates and bug fixes in a timely manner.
  • Import and convert data from various multiple formats from new and current clients to match the current architecture compliable to data access objects within our proprietary system.
  • Perform account balance troubleshooting, user interface customization, and technical support to various clients outside the realm of our “TaxMaster” base, such as “Data Design Utility Billing”, and “WarrantsWeb” for criminal warrant database information.
  • Designed and appended a public portal and interface, modified the system for partial payments, upgraded and created new procedures to implement suspense accounts and refund capabilities complete with upgraded security measures to add to the extensibility of the software.

A&M Investments, established in 1992 was initially a family owned entity based on Real Estate Investments, Rentals, and Foreclosure buyouts.  Since its first conception, A&M Investments has grown from a family owned business in strictly real estate to the owner of the startup company, Game Exchange USA, a video game consignment retail location.  Game Exchange USA, the fastest growing counterpart has now branched out to 4 stores in the past 3 years with 2 more stores to open by Q4 2008, opening to the public as a franchise opportunity by Q3 2009.

  • Designed a new database application via Microsoft Access integrating VBA with an easy to follow GUI for employees to track p/l of the real estate venture of A&M Investments, tracking tenant information, rent accounts, and various building maintenance, vendor dispatching, and automating lease contract renewals and generation.
  • Drafted initial design/architecture of the IT infrastructure of the startup company, Game Exchange USA.
  • Designed an inventory plan to ensure the tracking of various company profits/losses, overseeing the purchaase of POS and computer systems to meet business needs within a projected budget

  • Handled various customer inquiries such as billing, technical support, and sales, receiving excelled quality standards and  meeting 125% production goals within 2 months of employment
  • Promoted to Escalations Help Desk to assist fellow customer care reps to resolve various complicated account issues after 3 months
  • Promoted to the newly developed Account Modifications/Billing Research business unit 2 months later to assist in development and/or restructure of Nextel’s major corporate accounts
  • Promotion within 8 months employment to Call Center Supervisor, taking on the bottom performer team of 18 individuals growing to 2nd tier team 23 representatives strong within 2 months of new position.
