- Selected to be part
of the initial group of Process Control Supervisors for the commissioning of
the
New Line Plant in
Martinsburg, WV. The role of the Process Control Supervisor is to operate the
plant equipment from
a control room environment and supervise the hourly Production Department
hourly personnel in
the plant.
- After the first 4
months of plant commissioning I was selected to be the Team Leader of my shift
with 2 other supervisors and up to as many as 15 hourly employees at any time
under my direction.

Production Coordinator
- Responsible for the
Production Department at Essroc’s Frederick MD plant that included 12
supervisors and 70 unionized hourly employees
- Responsibilities
included production maximization. Through
improved equipment operation, quality of product, overseeing all refractory
installation, departmental budget control, and developing frontline
supervisors.
- With
better use of equipment inspections, operator / supervisor training, strict
enforcement of
operating parameters
and improved planning the Frederick Plant production and quality improved
drastically from previous years.

- A member
of the first group of true Process Control Supervisors at the Frederick Plant
- As a PCS I
worked both operating the kiln and mill equipment from the control room and
supervised the shift production crews in the general plant area.

- My primary
responsibility was to assist the Production Manager in maximizing production
through
equipment
inspections, experimentation and enforcement of set operating parameters.
- Worked closely with
refractory contractors during outages for kiln and cooler repairs.
- I alternated night
and weekend on call duties with the Production Manager to offer guidance and
instruction to the on
duty shift supervisors.
- As
Production Supervisor, I also served as relief for the Production Manager, Shift
Supervisors and
Shipping Supervisor
during vacations and other vacancies.

I directed the labor group for plant clean up to insure plant safety and
dependable operation of plant equipment.
