I am an experienced planning
professional specializing in creating, advancing and enhancing the planning
capabilities of multiple companies in a multitude of environments. My extensive experience includes utilizing
many planning packages including using Oracle’s Advanced Planning and
Scheduling applications in Retail, Discrete and Process manufacturing
environments. I am an energetic,
innovative professional who utilizes a team approach and produces results.
Key
Accomplishments
·
I was part of the
implementation team that led the Oracle’s Advanced Supply Chain planning suite at
Sportsmans Warehouse. With no previous planning
department in place I defined and implemented the demand and replenishment
planning roles with 12 inexperienced employees.
My leadership and training has led to the creation of a solid group
which has been instrumental in reaching an in stock position exceeding any
point in the past.
·
At USANA Health Sciences I led
the implementation of Oracle’s Advanced Supply Chain Planning and Inventory
applications for the user community. I managed
the operation and training of two separate departments in the use of the Oracle
applications. I took the Planning and
Inventory Control groups from the use of spreadsheets to a team being highly
successful utilizing the latest Oracle applications.
·
At Sportsmans Warehouse, USANA
Health Sciences and Kendall Medical wrote and maintained SOP’s for the Planning
and Inventory Control departments meeting all internal and external audit
requirements. More specifically, at
USANA met all TGA requirements for documentation of production and distribution
activities. Additionally, wrote all
documentation for managed departments to meet Sarbanes/Oxley guidelines.
·
At the request of the COO led
the re-configuration of work processes at the USANA owned Wasatch Product
Development facility. During this effort
I successfully redesigned the Planning, Shop Floor Operations, and Inventory
Control functions of the company incorporating Oracle OPM applications in the
process. As stated previously all
practices were documented and compliance monitored.
·
At Kendall Medical I created
the planning department and trained the entire staff in planning
processes. My actions led to significant
improvements in planning, manufacturing, engineering and inventory control.
Professional
Experience
Leave of Absence – Married
and took time off to travel with husband 2008
– 2011
Following my marriage in June of 2008, I left my position with
Sportsmans Warehouse to accompany my husband on a number of projects out of
state that he was engaged in. Starting
in May of 2011, I began an exhaustive learning period focused on Oracle R12 manufacturing
and VCP applications in order to resume my consulting career.
Planning Manager - Sportsmans
Warehouse 2006
- 2008
Defined the job roles for Demand Planners, (forecasting, ads, and
promotions), Replenishment Planners, (movement of material between distribution
center and over 65 stores), Item Master administrators, (setting up over 20K
items per year with near perfect accuracy).
Prior to my arrival there was no organized planning activities and no
planning software in use. For the user
community I led the implementation of the Oracle Advanced Planning and
Scheduling software in a retail environment.
Challenges faced included no employees with planning experience, the
Oracle software had never before been utilized in a retail environment, and the
extremely high number of products (120K), to be managed throughout a national
supply chain, our success was nothing short of amazing.
Key actions:
·
In-stock position which had
rarely been above 80% is now over 90%.
·
Store replenishment which
historically had occurred every 3-6 months now happens weekly.
·
Product is now flowing smoothly
through the planning processes with automation of many formally manual
processes being automated to improve overall functionality.
·
For a company that had no
formal procedures, wrote and monitored compliance of procedures for the
Planning, Inventory Control, Item Master Administrators, and Purchasing
departments, using the standard format that was established at USANA.
Planning and Inventory Control Manager - USANA Health Sciences 1996 – 2006
Responsible for the implementation of all Planning and Inventory
Control activities across a Global Supply Chain including: distribution in 11
countries, 2 production facilities and hundreds of suppliers. Trained and managed and documented the
activities of: Master Planning and Production Scheduling, Inter-Organization
Shipments, Receipt and Warehousing of raw materials, components and finished goods. Through use of extensive process knowledge
and software applications we have been able to keep department headcounts constant
while year over year growth exceeded 20 percent.
Key actions:
·
USANA did not have to meet the
FDA requirements for documentation in connection with production and
distribution of health oriented products; however the company did have to meet
TGA (Australian) requirements. Further,
the company had to comply with Sarbanes/Oxley guidelines. I personally have written and maintained all
SOP’s, TGA documents and SOX certification documents for the Planning,
Warehousing and Inventory Control departments.
Additionally, I have reviewed all documentation for departments
interacting with the areas for which I was responsible.
·
Implemented and taught my
department in the use of Oracle Discrete and Process Planning applications
including; Process Planning, MRP and ASCP.
·
As a key member of the Oracle
implementation team, led the implementation of Oracle Advanced Supply Chain
Planning application in just four months.
·
Tested and Documented all functions
and issues during upgrades from Oracle 11.5.8 through 11.5.10 for Planning and
Inventory Control.
·
Product and process knowledge
led to an invitation to be a member of the Oracle Customer Advisory Board for
Advanced Supply Chain Planning for Process industries.
·
Frequently requested by upper
management to lead projects to update and upgrade problem areas within the
company. A sampling of these projects
includes the redesign of the entire operational area at Wasatch Product
Developments. Improvements positively
impacted Planning, Purchasing, Production, Warehousing and Inventory
Control.
Planning Manager - Kendall Medical 1986-1996
I defined all roles of the
new Planning group at Kendall Medical.
The company had NO planning function prior to my employment with the
company. Implemented Material Requirements
