Related Projects
FE modeling of door panel of a car using HyperMesh
- The scope of the project
is to build the FE Model with flow-through mesh for crash-analysis of the
Door panel of a car.
- IGES Geometry of the
cross-member is imported.
- Necessary geometry
cleanup done. Identified the features like bolt-holes and slots
- One layer of washer-mesh
generated around the holes and cut-outs
- Remaining areas are
meshed using linear quad elements.
Less than 5% of trias were used
- Rotating quads are
avoided as per requirements. Quality parameters maintained
2D meshing of a car BIW component (Reinf_Asy_Bumper_MTG_LH) using
HyperMesh
- The scope of the project
is to build the FE Model for stress analysis of Car BIW component.
- Imported the IGES model
and cleaned up the geometry.
- Prepared washer-surfaces
around holes and cut-outs.
- Identified the features,
slots & bolt-holes.
- Generated one-layer of
QUAD4 elements around slots & bolt-holes.
- Remaining areas are meshed
using linear quad elements.
- Only QUAD4 elements are
generated for the entire model.
- Checked for free-edges
and duplicates.
- Quality parameters
maintained according to client requirements.
3D Hexmesh of a Lower Control Arm of a heavy truck suspension system
- The scope of the project
is to build the FE Model for stress analysis of Lower Control Arm of a
heavy truck suspension system.
- Imported the IGES model
and cleaned up the geometry.
- Used solid mapping for
generation of hex mesh within the criteria specified.
- Used QUAD4 elements for ribs.
- The connection of 3D and
2D elements achieved by inserting one layer of 2D elements into 3D
elements of thickness 1/10th of the thickness of the rib.
- Pin was modelled using
rigid spider and beam elements
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Mini Project
Title:
DESIGN
OF A SUPERSONIC PASSENGER AIRCRAFT
Description:
A
Theoretical design of a 150 seaters supersonic passenger aircraft was done with
numerical calculations and assumptions. The Main Feature of this fighter is
that it can fly at supersonic speed. And we have taken duplov and concord
aircrafts as bases for data collection
and we have eliminated the acoustic vibration faced in earlier design of this
kind of aircrafts.
Main
Project Title:
DESIGN AND OPTIMISATION OF HYPERSONIC INLET
USING CFD ANALYSIS
Description:
In
the present study computational tests were carried out to get an understanding
of the flow field in a pure mixed compression hypersonic inlet at a free stream
Mach number of 6.The design of the inlet for the scramjet stage was undertaken
by designing four different inlets and selecting the design with the best
performance. The selection criterion was based on the drag generated by the
inlet and its susceptibility to boundary layer separation. An inlet that has
high compression efficiency produces compressed flow that can do more expansion
work and hence produce higher vehicle thrusts as it is expanded over a thrust
