PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE:
Presently
working at
Intellibatt
(Firmware Engineer)
·
Develop firmware
for product line of devices
·
Design,
building and testing of Intellibatt monitoring products
·
Perform
electronic hardware design, schematic capture, board layout, prototyping and hardware testing
·
Quality
assurance testing and documentation
Larsen
& Toubro Limited (Engineering Intern) May 2010 – August 2010
· Testing
of the various protection settings in Motor protection relay and assisted in
enhancing the code to keep a check on overcurrent, over voltage, frequency,
phase loss and earth fault using MPLAB for 16bit PIC.
· Worked
on new product development of numerical relays which are used for power line
protection in feeders. Studied different DSP processors and Microcontrollers to
be used for data acquisition and complex Mathematical operations
· Studied
and analyzed different features and timing accuracies of the Feeder protection
relays in comparison with its competitors.
The
University of Texas at Arlington (Graduate Teaching Assistant) January 2009 – May 2009
· Helped Students design, integrate and debug
a Microcontroller-based Autonomous Robot where PIC 18F was used to understand
basic concepts of microprocessors and microcontrollers.
Bombay
Textile Research Association (Project Trainee) August 2007 – June 2008
· Designed
hardware for interfacing of Microcontroller 89C51 and Temperature Sensor PT100
and used Assembly level programming.
· As
the temperature of the dye of textile varies with respect to the set point, it
sends an interrupt so that an alarm rings to alert the person monitoring the
facility.
ACADEMIC
PROJECTS:
Real
– Time Operating System Design:
Given a
simple framework for building RTOS, the objective of this project was to
implement a cooperative and preemptive RTOS on PIC 24FJ64GA002 using mixed
C/Assembly Language Programming.
Webpage
Server Implementation on PIC 24FJ64GA002:
Developed
a C code to implement a webpage server on PIC 24F that sends and receives HTTP
data from client using TCP/IP protocol.
Interfaced ENC 28J60 Ethernet controller with PIC 24F to host webpages.
Whenever a client requests a web page, we set up TCP connection with 3 way
handshake and once the connection is established the web page is sent to the
client over the Ethernet link.
Embedded
Microcontroller System Design for two-way communication:
To
build a PIC24FJ64GA002 based system which took commands from a PC using the
RS-232 link. By using these commands bidirectional communication was done with
the peripherals through RS 485.
Modeling of a Digital
communication system:
Designed
and simulated a BPSK digital communication system with channel equalizer using
Maximum-Likelihood Sequence Estimator (Viterbi- algorithm) for a multipath
channel to alleviate intersymbol interference and estimated its performances.
The Monte-Carlo simulations and the trellis coding were done using MATLAB.
MIMO
System simulation:
MATLAB
simulation of a MIMO wireless communication system and Alamouti code for MISO
to analyze the effect of noise.
Electronic
Voting Machine:
Project
which calculates the number of votes given to the candidates and also avoids
false voting where microcontroller 89C51 was used.
Number
Guessing Game:
Digital
project that guesses the number between 0 and 99 using IC CD4511 which converts
binary to BCD equivalent.
SKILLSET:
·
Programming Languages: C, C++, Assembly Level Programming
of Microcontrollers using MPLAB (Embedded Coding), and MATLAB.
·
Microcontroller Families: PIC 18F/24F/33F, X86, 89c5x.
·
Communication Networking: TCP/IP, Ethernet, Routers and Switches.
·
Design Tools: Cadence-Spectra, ADS, Altium Designer.
· Operating Systems: Windows OS (98, XP, Vista and
Windows 7), MAC OS.
HONORS
AND AWARDS:
· Received
TPEG international scholarship for two consecutive semesters from Aug 2009 –
May 2010.
· Elected
Event Head in Robotics for Annual Intercollegiate Technical Symposium of Mumbai
University in 2007-2008.
COURSEWORK:
Embedded
Microcontroller Systems, Advanced Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, Computer
Architecture, Wireless Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Communications, Semiconductor Device
Theory, Advanced Electronics, Digital VLSI Design, Electronic Circuit Analysis
and Design, Analog Integrated Circuits.
