1 million
square foot facility servicing 250 stores in the Southeast with Hard lines,
Soft lines and food.
Operation Manager, Sept. 2007 to Apr. 2010
Recruited to
help with the startup and management of a new building in the areas of second
shift Receiving and Replenishment Department (RSR). Worked with department Supervisors, Assistant
General Managers, and General Manager to recruit, on board, and train new
associates. Developed minimum standards to track progress of departments. Direct and coordinate activities and concerns
of RSR Departments; Review finical statements, activity reports, and
performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine
needing cost reduction and improvement.
Key Results:
® Played a key role in ensuring the successful launch of the Newnan,
GA Distribution Center. Structured and implemented programs and policies for
two departments in the areas of Yard Management, Receiving, Put-Away,
Replenishment, training, incentives and new associate orientation.
® Successful rollout and system go-live at Distribution Centers in
Newnan, GA, Phoenix, AZ, and Ottawa, IL.
I was able to work with and train both exempt and non-exempt associates
in each of these D.C.’s to ensure the successful go-live of Manhattan and
Associates WMS.
® Rollout of Manhattan and Associates Labor Management (LM). Increasing the departments performance by 30%
or 150,000 units per shift and have the lowest associate turnover in the
building due to LM, only loosing 3 associates in 12 months.
® Maintained and Associate Performance of greater than 90% while
keeping the Associate On Standard rating above 85%
® Negotiated and worked with 3 PL to contract their services to handle
all container and LTL freight, reducing overall inbound cost by 15%.
® Developed process for Replenishment and Put-Away equipment operators
to be system directed and interact performing both replenish and put-away from
the receiving dock. This process
increased performance in both departments by 20% and eliminated most all
associate down time.

by making adjustments to departmental start times, rotating opening and closing
the building with the management team, and increased productivity.
® Monitor and oversee West coast 3 PL in Oakland, CA. This facility handled Import Container and
services customers such as Wal-Mart.
® Headed a team to document all processes and best practice for each

Promoted to
fulfill a broad range of Transportation function, including 40 truck dedicated
fleet and 250 trailers, overseeing Customer Service, Backhaul revenue, Store
Deliveries, equipment utilization, negotiate and authorize contracts, analyze
expenditure and budget; develop plans, budget, policies, for all store
deliveries.
Key Results:
® Backhaul revenue of 2 million in 2002 while maintain on-time store
delivery of 97%. This was obtained by
working with our vendors, buyer and building a wave plan that would complement
the pickup agreements.
® Maintained an On-time delivery greater than 98%. By establishing a delivery and waving plan
that would allow delivering to all stores within a 3 hour delivery window.
® By establishing A, B, and C store volume, deliveries and maximizing the
utilization of each trailer with an average cube of 3,300 we was able to reduced
cost per carton by 20%.
® Managed a $20 million transportation budget and was under budget
2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004.
