The Association membership has grown
along with our visibility and influence in the legislature and with the state
departments. We have become the principal advocacy voice for private agencies serving children and families in Ohio.
Public Policy
·
Serve as a resource to policy-makers in all branches of
government
·
Assist with development of administrative rules

Testify on proposed legislation and rules
·
Work with the Governor's office and state departments on
policy and systems issues
·
Collaborate with the Department of Youth Services to improve
juvenile justice services;
·
Working on the development of
statewide outcome measures for behavioral health care with the Departments
of Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services
·
Redesigned child welfare licensing system and rules,
currently leading membership in redesigning mental health licensing and
certification standards.
Training and Staff Development
·
Develop and deliver professional training to staff of member
agencies, county and state government, and to legislators and their staffs
·
Plan and implement statewide
conferences and membership meetings
·
Preparing membership for major shift in service environment
and leadership challenges

Present training and information at regional meetings and
for individual member agencies.
Advocacy
·
Work with federal, state and local governmental agents to
facilitate and coordinate services and public
policy development

Represent the interest of our members and the children and
families they serve to policy-makers at all levels of government.

Represent members on Ohio Departments’ work groups,
committees and taskforces.

Develop and implement a comprehensive outcome data analysis
tool for agencies to use to continuously improve quality of services and
maximize the efficacy of resource investment.
