Project Details:
  1. Project Name: PMS
Brief description:
Worked on Performance Management System (PMS), a GUI developed using Java, for Performance Management Administration and Data Collection functionality within the OSS Network Explorer (ONE) Interface. Operations supported by the GUI, will vary in accordance with the suite configuration or mix of configurations deployed.
Role: Developer Core Java                      
Responsibilities:
●     Designed and provided support, extensively involved in Trouble Report (TR) fixing.
●     Resolved technical issues through debugging, analysis and investigation. Found the root cause of several issues by remotely debugging the server using Eclipse IDE.
●     The software components in PMS could be run on separate servers and connectivity between the modules was attained using CORBA, thereby obtained an excellent exposure to CORBA and Java IDL.
●     Data pertaining to the node were updated on Sybase database. Hands-on experience with JDBC, which stands as an API to connect with the Sybase database, and fixed several data inconsistency issues.
●     PMS is launched via Cygwin tool and the product ultimately runs on LINUX platform, hence acquired the ability to work conveniently in LINUX platform and a good knowledge of the UNIX commands.
●     Usage of CruiseControl for compilation, unit testing and PMD checking. Took initiative to reduce PMD errors in the existing code and avoid new violations in future development.
●     Round the clock support for customer related issues. Customer servers were accessed using Citrix.
●     Vibrantly involved in package building using Ant build tool and the overall package delivery process from design to FT team.

2.    Project Name: BTS Element Manager
Brief description:
Worked on Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Element Manager, a GUI for configuring and viewing the BTS. The GUI helps the user to test and monitor the performance of the element in the network.
Role: Developer Java GUI
Responsibilities:
●     Developed the GUI using Core Java and Java Swing, proficient in OO Design and Programming.
●     Key responsibilities were pronto fixing and CR implementation.
●     Identified and fixed performance and threading issues at the appropriate time.
●     Instrumental in implementing MVC architectural pattern. I have made sure that the control flows of the newly implemented functionalities were by MVC.
●     Towards meeting the requirement of a CR, took the initiative to use DOM to parse XML files in order to get the desired output.
●     Timely response to internal queries and customer queries.
●     Contributed to the creation of comprehensive unit test plans, created and executed test cases in line with test plans.
●     Involved in unit and integration testing when required. Written JUnit for testing the functionality in the code.
●     Effectively executed, tracked and participated in reviews, had given valuable review comments on code/documents on time.
●     Worked in an Agile environment of software development.
