  • Was involved in extracting data from legacy systems into BW.  The legacy systems included Sales, Inventory, Planning and Projection, and Store Traffic.  Responsibilities included data requirement analysis, data modeling, and definition of Info-Objects, characteristics and key figures, basic Info-Cubes, creation and testing of update rules, and multi-cubes, as well as creation of queries using Business Explorer Analyzer.  Extraction of legacy data required the use of a 3rd-party tool called Informatica PowerMart.   Custom cubes were built on sales and inventory and store traffic.  Building custom cubes included using the star-schema design where characteristics are grouped into dimensions and key figures are grouped into a fact table, units of measures are grouped into the unit and time dimension as well as important dates such as current period, fiscal period, current week, and more.

  • Was also involved in the extraction of data from SAP R/3 into BW.  This included the upload of data from SAP modules Sales and Distribution, Inventory, Purchasing using the LIS method.  Involvement included cube design, writing enhancements to SAP delivered Extract Structures and creation of reports using the BEX Analyzer.

  • Briefly responsible for the enhancements and modifications to existing financial custom programs as well as writing  new report programs using ABAP/4 as requested by users.

§  For their 4.6 Upgrade Project, is part of their Developers Team that is responsible for the testing and modification and documentation of existing programs?  These included report programs, interface programs, screen painter programs report programs and BDC’s.  The task also included writing new programs in 4.6 as necessary, testing queries, field and user exits, sapscript layout sets and creation of custom tables.  Documentation is performed in Caliber, software from Technology Builders, Inc.  Existing document from Toolkit were transferred over to Caliber.


  • As a member of the 3.0D Backfill Developers Team, coded and tested a very complex report in SAP/ABAP that tracks all the processes involved in manufacturing products.  This report helps Management identify the bottlenecks in manufacturing products and helps improve the production turn-around time.  The task also included creating and implementing a complex test plan, creating program specifications and determining source of data.  Responsibilities also include production support and making enhancements to existing Accounts Payable reports and processes.  

  • Concurrently, as a member of their SAP Security Team, assisted in the creation of new user id’s and granting access authorizations to users.  Also assisted in the analysis of existing user groups and authorizations to facilitate the smooth transition from version 3.0D to 4.6B by coding and testing ABAP programs in 4.6 or 3.0D

  • Responsible for the development of screen painter programs for the company’s funding system.  The funding system allows sales management to allocate or transfer money for marketing purposes from one   region to another.  These programs involved complex step loop processing and manipulation.  Responsibilities also included creating and maintaining menus through menu painter as well as user coordination and user testing.

  • Concurrent with the above project are data conversion projects for two Colgate subsidiaries. Responsibilities for these projects included writing and executing BDC’s and customized ABAP/4 programs.    

  • As part of the IBM Mainframe decommissioning project, several report programs and interface programs were written using ABAP/4. These programs created files containing data extracted from SAP daily.  The files are transported into the IBM from Unix and fed into the Reporting System, which is currently being run on the mainframe.

  • Responsible for the coding, testing and execution of programs that were used to convert data from the legacy systems in the mainframe into SAP/Sales and Distribution function.  This involved writing programs using ABAP/4 and writing BDC’s  on Sales & Distribution,  Customer Master Data creation and maintenance, Sales & Distribution Master Data Pricing and Discounting, Materials Management Goods  Movement,  Materials Management Material Master Create and  Maintenance.
