Applications
Consultant 2 /Application
Developer 4 (June 2001 – Present)
Worked
on a project where I helped create the CMS toolset for business line users to
manage content for the Private Client Reserve site. I was responsible for the FormsPublisher development within TeamSite 7.2 while others were
responsible for SitePublisher
development and workflow development. I aided in integration testing of
workflow and SitePublisher toolsets.
Example:
o
Implemented a
Datasource to create a sorted drop list of information from within a
database in the advisor collection form
o
Created 8 new
collection forms with required dynamic behaviours (FormAPI/Javascript) and xml/
l generated files. Used new XSLT supported files for generating
output as opposed to older TPL
files.
o
Dynamic Behaviors within
some or all of the forms include:
o Stripping
characters from data utilized to auto generate form name
o Auto
generating directory and file name
o Checking
to ensure a file does not already exist – stopping the save if it does so user
doesn’t overwrite content
o Auto
creating new folders as needed
o Limiting
collection form to create only 1 file
o Upon
edit action rendering data originally used to name the file as readonly
o
Created/documented
new JavaScript development standards
for use on TeamSite 7.2
o
Customized tinyMCE configurations for FormsPublisher to match SitePublisher default toolbar for use
in TeamSite 7.2.
o
Performed targeted
unit testing of SitePublisher
toolset and Workflows as they were being developed.
Helped
work on a BAU project to “componentize” collection forms. As our collection
form libraries grew – so did the need to reuse exisiting forms – so, rather
than maintain multiple copies of a collection form – we built a component
library so updates could be maintained in one location and all workareas
needing that specific set of input fields would be updated.
- Added in creating a Perl script to read in the component information. Script able
to allow for variable inserts in case of small differences between
workareas – ex. different VFE
toolbar configuration needed in each workarea.
- Researched and implemented “iw_include” calls within TPLs
- Wrote/performed integration test cases to ensure our
new functionality was working and ready to introduce to business line
workareas.
Worked
on a project where I collaborated with the web development team to create
customized TeamSite Data Capture Template
files (DCTs) and TeamSite Template Presentation Logic
files (TPLs), which utilized XML, JavaScript / FormAPI and Perl,
to enable non-technical users of the TeamSite installation to create web pages
and an online application process to allow customers to learn about and apply
for credit cards with any of our credit card partners.
This toolset allows the business line to effectively manage the similarities
and differences of each partner to present a standard marketing/application
process. I continue to work projects to enhance this content/configuration
toolset for users of the TeamSite 6.7
installation to enable the business line to manage content and configure layout
on more of these web pages without needing to include web development or wait
for release cycles.
Toolset supports:
150+
USBank Affinity Partner sites/forms, examples:
- Authored custom JavaScript/FormAPI
for use in DCTs to allow only
one DCR/generated page to be
created from one template type.
- Authored custom JavaScript/FormAPI
for use in DCTs to hide/show
optional form fields, making them required fields when visible and
clearing any entered information when de-selected.
- Authored custom JavaScript/FormAPI
for use in DCTs to read
various data input in order to auto name files.
- Created custom workflow template file (WFT) using Perl to deploy files via OpenDeploy.
- Configured OpenDeploy
to deploy pages and assets to correct server and filepaths.
- Configured templates and workflow for use in the 6
workareas.
- Created custom Visual Format Editor (VFE) configuration, specifying
CSS styles available for use in editor, adding a custom buttons for use
in the VFE to insert a variable ‘placeholder’, to be replaced with “Java
variable placeholder” by the TPL
during page generation.
- Created “insert variable” toolset (triggered by
custom button on the VFE
toolbar) – toolset consists of a Perl CGI script which reads predefined
variables from a database and presents the choices in a tree control
format to the user. User double clicks the choice to insert variable
placeholder within content.
- Created “insert link” and “insert footnote” toolset
(triggered by custom button on the VFE
toolbar) – toolset consists of a Perl CGI script which reads predefined
links/footnotes from the appropriate XML file (also managed via a
collection form by the business line) and presents the choices in a tree
control format to the user. User double clicks on the choice to insert
link/footer placeholder within content. Web code then consumes and
renders the links/footnotes at time of page rendering.
- Created “insert anchor tag to faq” toolset (triggered
by custom button on the VFE
toolbar) toolset consists of a Perl CGI script which reads faq files
(also managed via a collection form by the business line) and presents
the choices in a tree control format to the user. User double clicks on
the choice to insert link/footer placeholder within content. Web code
then consumes and renders the link within the content to the faq topic at
time of page rendering.
Worked on a project where I created
customized TeamSite Data Capture
Template files (DCTs) and TeamSite Template Presentation Logic
files (TPLs), and workflow,
to allow the business line to enable/disable loan officer pages in a standard
look/feel outside of release cycle. This
solved a growing issue of loan officers creating their own site (out of
compliance with USBank look/feel standards) to reach out to potential
customers.
Example:
- Created TPL
to provide a preview of data input and to communicate data to the
database for web pages designed by the web development team to read to
build loan officer pages.
- Created email templates which provided previewing
links within approval emails to aide users in reviewing changes.
- Helped create Perl
Module leveraged by the TPL and workflow to communicate with the database
via stored procedures following appropriate approvals.
- Solution allows for custom loan officer image or a
default image if a custom image is not provided.
Helped work on a BAU project to enhance
our workflows so they were customizable. As we built out test environments for
our TeamSite development work – we
realized we constantly needed to adjust our code so that we were pointing to
appropriate environments. This work allowed us to simply maintain separate
configurations in each environment so we could promote the actual code to each
environment without the need for changes.
- Aided in defining the requirements for our project.
- Aided in designing a Perl Module to read configurations from a file.
- Wrote/performed integration test cases to ensure our
new functionality was working and ready to introduce to business line
workareas.
Worked on a project within TeamSite 5.52 where I helped create a
custom JSP page to enable a business
line to more easily review and take action on files within their specific
workarea:
- The page was triggered by a drop down menu item from
the TeamSite GUI interface.
- It allowed users to edit files/preview files/view
properties without needing to be within the main TeamSite interface.
- The page
listed file names, last modified dates, user name who last modified each
file and any comments attached to the file when it was workflowed.
- The page enabled users to view the version history of
each file, to edit the file in a new window and to select specific files
and initiate a workflow.
- (with
the re-introduction of the CCStandard Interface in Teamsite 6.5 – this
little application page was retired)
Worked on OS conversion project
–Teamsite 5.52 on Windows converted to 5.52 on Solaris
o
Aided in creating Perl scripts to copy content files from
old backingstore location to new backing
store location. Script on 5.5.2 needed to read TeamSite attributes and create a
log file of information gathered. Once files were copied to Solaris – another script needed to read
the log file and reset TeamSite
attributes.
o
Performed validations
on all custom Perl scripts created
within the Windows environment to ensure it continued to perform correctly within
5.52 Solaris environment. If a Perl
script failed to function – I did troubleshooting and corrected issues.
o
Performed validations
on all collection forms created within the Windows environment to ensure it
continued to perform correctly within 5.52 Solaris environment. If a collection
form failed to function – I did troubleshooting and corrected issues.
Worked on conversion of SQL 7.0 database
to SQL 2000.
- Performed validations on all collection forms which
were dependent upon communicating with a SQL server database. If a
collection form failed to function – I did troubleshooting and worked
with the database developer to correct issues.
Worked on the original implementation of
TeamSite 4.51 within the bank to support the new usbank.com redesign project in
2001:
- Aided in entering html into collection forms designed
by a contracting company to aide in the rapid creation of usbank web
pages with the new look/feel.
- Wrote/performed integration test cases to ensure new
pages were working correctly.
- Once the site was up – worked on numerous small
projects to create custom collection forms to allow specific business
users to manange web content on the new usbank.com (2001 – 2003) within
our new implementation of Teamsite.
- Trained business lines on utilizing collection forms
and workflow developed
- Supported business lines if issues arose.
- Performed troubleshooting steps and/or made
adjustments to DCTs/TPLs/WFTs/Perl scripts as needed.

request web page validations on the Mac OS – however upon receiving an Apple
desktop computer for our test lab, no one on our team had experience in
effectively utilizing a Mac.
o
Took
an online course for beginning Mac users.
