Currently I am working with Tim of “Tim’s Computers” in
Bennington. He has been allowing me to not only get the hands on experience I
need to go along with my current studies (enrolled with Kaplan University
online and working towards an Associate’s degree in Network Administration), while
also teaching me about the field with OJT. I am learning much by working with
him and get to actually apply my studies to real world situations. We
recently completed setting up the entire network for a renovated doctor’s
office including the actual running of all cables and connections. He is a
great mentor and has become a good friend.

At NSK Steering Systems the work position was through Adecco as a
temp. I was working the help desk to help with updates to the many computers
on the floor, and extensive laptop and desktop repairs and upgrades to all
company computers. This included ghost imaging and clean installs. During
this assignment, I was able to complete the updates on over 100 machines.
These updates were over the network for Microsoft Office 2010. I was also
responsible for transfer of data from older computers to new ones, including
programs, email accounts, and saved work files. Working the help desk also
allowed me to troubleshoot user problems in a corporate environment.

At Mack Molding Company I was responsible for setting up the
maintenance program called “Maintsmart” this program was purchased previous
to my employ but never used. All repair and maintenance of all major and
minor metals dept. equipment including lasers, punches, press brakes, etc.,
and their support equipment. Ordering parts and tracking inventory using
Excel to avoid down time but stay with-in our allotted budget. Dealing with
vendors for rebuilds and finding quality parts that work as well as OEM. All
maintenance had to be tracked as Mack is a manufacturer of medical equipment;
ISO regulated and were audited on a regular basis. I also passed the
certification test as a forklift operator.

At the Capital
Region Networking Academy I trained as an A+ computer Technician. At the academy I installed, configured, and
upgraded Windows 9x, 2000 Pro, 2000 Server, NT, and some Linux Operating
Systems (including their applications) Repaired numerous aging IBM compatible
PCs including upgrades. Assembled new IBM compatible PCs using off the shelf
hardware. Set-up various LANs using Default Windows Protocols and TCP/IP, and
installed local printers, and printers for LANs including locating the
drivers when applicable. I was introduced to many industry type system repair
and restore techniques such as G-disk, and Ghost Utility installations using
servers, but also actually working with servers, as an intern at BKM Office’s
repair facility and the challenge of all types of field repair circumstances
including laptop repair and installations.

At Ecotech Automotive I was an Owner/Partner and some of the
duties performed include, but are not limited to, complete planning, set-up,
licensing (including town board and zoning meetings), structuring of the
business, i.e. logo, shop manual, applications, general paperwork etc., negotiating
all private and police rotation accounts, selection of personnel and vendors,
filing of paperwork with the proper agencies such as DMV for the disposition
of vehicles, motor vehicle sales, maintaining and managing the facility and
equipment, along with auto towing and recovery, and motor vehicle repair.
As a towing and recovery
professional, my duties included towing and transport of vehicles, equipment,
and large materials. Working with police, fire and other emergency personnel
during recovery and clean- up of vehicles at accident scenes. Customer
service and diagnosis (I.E. when a car doesn’t need or will not take a
jump-start) Also involved in some dispatching. I even was able to oversee the
recovery of a small crashed aircraft.
