Primarily responsible for the
deployment of application code, to determine problems and provide subsequent
support on any fix to verify the integrity and health of enterprise systems.

Direct
monthly and quarterly change releases with multiple internal teams in which new
code is deployed for software applications including mail, registration, member
profile and database updates.

Manage
all aspects of Netcool System Administrator software, including installation,
update and daily support of the product.
Lead tier 1 support team in customize alarming and with development
teams to add/remove all pertinent monitoring.
o
Write
and maintain automated perl scripts which simulate user activity in order to
verify the health of the applications, including mail, dns, news, ldap and
database servers. Script forwards any
alerts to Netcool for problem determination.

Write
and maintain automated remote perl and shell scripts which alert on all types
of server issues including errors found in log files, cpu problems, file system
alerts, daemon failures and any other type of potential problems.

Install
and maintain both mysql database and apache webserver which contain information
on all incoming alerts. This information
includes the explanation of the alert, action to be taken, possible symptoms,
probable fixes and servers affected.

Oversee
WebSphere System software including tier 2 support of mission critical
applications. These include DSL and
Lightspeed Registrations and all member profile activity.

with several development teams to write, test, implement and install perl

NOTEABLE PROJECTS

Developed
and created a log consolidation server containing automated perl scripts which pulled
down thousands of log files from hundreds of servers to a single host. Also installed a mysql database on the host
for inputting data from the logs.

the entire Netcool Monitoring Server Farm consisting of 10 servers, from Linux
to Aix without interrupting service.

Saved
the company over a million dollars by designing and writing secure, reliable
and responsive monitoring scripts rather than purchasing BMC Patrol agent
