Directed Global Field Supply Chain function. Supervised a staff of 100 professional and non-exempt employees located worldwide responsible for field supply chain. Responsibilities included field procurement, materials management ($140MM rig inventory and $100MM capital spares inventory) and logistics. Areas of operation included India, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Gabon, South Africa, Angola, Brazil, Mexico and the US Gulf of Mexico). Worked with operations personnel on a daily basis to insure zero down time and a strong inter-departmental relationship. Results:  Supported a 25 rig offshore drilling operation including drillships, semi-submersibles and jackups.

Developed and implemented procedures and associated systems for global standardized cycle count process.  Worked with Field Operations, Asset Management, Finance and IT to develop and institute a standardized cycle count process for yard/warehouse capital spares and rig consumable inventory. Results: cycle counts performed on a consistent and timely basis throughout the year per policy; monthly reports produced to facilitate monitoring of progress, variances and root cause analysis; improved inventory accuracy from 90% to 95%.

Instituted a business process to consolidate surplus/junk drilling equipment and dispose via online auction.  Developed and implemented improved business process whereby surplus and junk equipment was reviewed with local operations personnel, combined and listed with a third party online auction service. Results: Disposed of $5MM of equipment in the first year compared to past annual averages of $500M; obtained competitive bids; maintained detailed sales transaction documentation for Internal Controls; reduced record keeping and storage costs.

Results:  Supported a $2 billion annual E&P work program

Represented Supply Chain Management on Management Committee for SAP Implementation Project. Committee directed the activities of 100 employees and 20 SAP personnel determining priorities, business processes, functional responsibilities, timelines, training and change management. Committee presented monthly progress reports to Executive Committee. Results: SAP successfully implemented on target date yielding a vastly improved resource planning system.

Managed preparation and administration of annual Supply Chain Management Department Budget.  Met with fellow Supply Chain Managers and corporate E&P Department Heads to forecast, establish, obtain approval for and maintain $100MM annual A&G budget. Results:  A well controlled budget that was consistently within 5% of original estimate.

Results: Increased base camp capacity from 50 to 150 in support of Anadarko’s oil development efforts following their major discovery. Directed integration of personnel and oilfield assets in $8 billion Anadarko/Union Pacific Resources merger. Analyzed available resources, determined operational requirements, developed and implemented “go forward” organization.  Results: Reduced pre-merger staff levels 20% and warehouse locations 50%. Dramatically cut storage costs and inventory records

Developed schedules, booking, baggage, billing, hotel, and ground transportation procedures for a service that eventually flew 5 times a week carrying 150 passengers.
