I.T. Manager, Data Center
Operations (1992 – 2009)
Responsible for 24/7 Data
Center Operations: managing a staff of 2 employees first and second shift;
running 2 AS/400 systems using passthru and snads between the machines; running
BPCS to support Manufacturing, A/P, G/L, and all other aspects of Finance Support.

Monitored daily operations of a
batch environment including night backups and overnight financial processing in
accordance with prepared schedules.

Installed and maintained all
AS/400 hardware and software during weekend hours, working with IBM support.
·
Created a tape library, backup
procedures and yearly disaster recovery procedures. Traveled once a year to the
IBM disaster site in New York; tested the AS/400 full system restore and tested
financial processing.

Managed each fiscal month-end
process of closing the books starting Saturday night. Worked closely with employees to see that
reports were submitted and processed.
Monitored this cycle through the weekend in order to reopen the books
and start a new month by 7 a.m. the following Monday.

Supervised operations staff,

100 units running backup and restores of over 300 clients using backupexec and

backing up HP oracle database environment.
Windows Systems Engineer IV (2009 –
2011)
Provided 24/7 operational support for data center
environment, hardware, peripherals, backups and restores for 500 clients within
the Kronos Data centers and labs (4 different locations). Worked within a team of 3 people responsible
for on-call every 3rd week for 7 days/nights.
- Worked with technical support staff to identify, isolate and resolve any backup issues, striving to have a backup success rate of 100 %.
- Worked with operations team in converting netbackup/backupexe backup environment to the EMC networker/legato platform. Monitored, logged, and created special daily reports to ensure backups completed successfully.
- Oversaw SOX restore testing and documentation; interacted with internal and external auditors to ensure that policies and procedures were followed while passing the SOX audit.
- Received bids and submitted purchase requisitions for yearly maintenance for the data center environment equipment ( hvac, pdu, ups, generator ), quantum tape library, and Iron Mountain tape services . Other vendors used were Office Max and Staples to purchase backup media for tape libraries.
