Ø  As part of the creation of the LFD (Lincoln Financial Distributors) division, I recruited and trained the data warehousing, reporting and support team which is now at 16+ employees, consultants and outside contractors.
Ø  Responsible for the creation of the award winning LFD Business Intelligence platform.  
Ø  Established the first Lincoln enterprise data warehouse solution for the Individual Markets, creating one version of the truth for consolidated data.

Ø  During this period, I contracted for a legal firm and a printing company.  The project involved the following:
w  Developed reports and reporting front end for new developed client server application using, Visual Basic 6.0, Active Reports and SQL Server (stored procedures).
w  Developed web page to dynamically view published reports in PDF and RDF formats.  Developed using ASP/HTML and SQL Server.
w  Enhance, modify and debug existing client server application.

Ø  Managing project team of 4 developers, providing client server solutions using, Visual Basic, Active X, OLE Automation, SQL Server, DreamWeaver Ultradev, ASP, Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports and various other technologies.  Successfully implemented Object Oriented applications and intranet site to provide users with increased productivity while eliminating redundancy of data and processing. 
Ø  Managing Help Desk staff of 4 technical support specialists and 3 specialists in remote locations.   Successfully implemented improvements to the Help Desk to provide customers with accurate information in a timely manner, while increasing productivity of the IS Department and improving customer service.
Ø  Leader during a Windows 95/Novell migration to Windows 2000 (desktops, servers and databases).  
Ø  Developed 2 client server applications that fully automated business processing using Visual Basic 6.0, Microsoft SQL Server 6.5-7.0 and integrating with GroupWise email system.

Independent Consultant
August, 1998 to February, 2000
Ø  During this period, I contracted for municipalities, chemical and financial firms. The project involved the following:
w  Developed application using Visual Basic 5.0 for data entry and reporting of police department records.   This application is developed using various OCX controls and Windows API programming for advanced features.
w  Balanced and validated a SQL Server database, using SQL stored procedures, and Crystal Reports.  Provided documentation on database balancing.
w  Performed analysis, made recommendations and provided solutions for a Sybase database that contained credit card information.  I was also responsible for assisting the analyst using SAS with long running queries and to make and implement recommendations to aid in the month-end process.
w  Implemented Sybase improvements for month-end process, including automated balancing and process documentation.  I reduced the run-time of a month-end stored procedure from 6 hours to 45 minutes.
w  Remediated a large-scale non-year 2000 compliant database, before government mandated deadlines.   This assignment included project management and database design.
w  Served as DBA and performed database tuning

Principal Analyst Developer

January, 1998 to August, 1998

Project Leader of the Client Server Development team.  My responsibilities include management of multiple client server projects, utilizing Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5.  In my tenure at Health Partners, I’ve successfully implemented an application for Health and Disease Management and a Provider Compensation Application.  These applications are developed using 3 tier Object Oriented programming in Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server.  I’ve also incorporated the rapid, iterative systems life cycle for developing applications and I am currently training 8 developers on Object Oriented Analysis and Design.   I’ve made many recommendations and presented a proposal to upper management on how to integrate their existing mainframe applications with new client server development projects and how to streamline and standardize reporting.

June, 1989 to January, 1998

From 1995 through 1998 I was part of a client/server systems engineering team providing 3 tier solutions using Borland C++ compiler, Object Oriented Programming, Sybase relational database and various other tools and utilities.  In my capacity as Information Analyst I was responsible for the full systems life cycle on several projects, implementing the concepts of project management, RAD and JAD.    I developed and maintained several reinsurance C++ applications.  I also developed the entire client server reporting environment and Management Information System.

EDUCATION
EDS Systems Engineering Development Program

March, 1992 to October, 1994

The 2 ½ year training program was structured in 3 components:

Phase 1 - I provided support for AT&T provisioning systems, responsibilities included daily, monthly and weekly call analysis and reporting.  I was selected to develop a training program and I travelled nation-wide to train at multiple AT&T sites across the United States.

Phase 2 – Participated in a 3-month intensive technical training that included a five-week customer project.   Curriculum included Systems Life Cycle, Integrated Process Modeling, Data Modeling, Sybase SQL, INCASE (Case tool similar to Texas Instruments IEF), Unix, XWindows, RAD and JAD.  Chosen to be 1 of 3 students to participate in an additional eleven week Assistant Instructor program.

Phase 3 – C++ developer on GM Reinsurance project, responsible for development and enhancements on 2 Reinsurance sub-systems (Treaty and Reporting).
