Director of Manufacturing Operations   

 Charter was to reorganize Manufacturing, Production Planning, Inventory Control, Supply Chain and Order Management.

Implemented Revenue Recognition models to include: financial forecasting, manpower costs, cost of goods sold and profit margins

Chairman of the ISO 9001:2001 committees for CY 1994 and CY 2000 including certification and surveillance audits

Mission was to plan, procure, build, test, inspect and ship electro-mechanical optical based finished goods within company delivery expectations (same day/next day shipments) in tandem with Sales and Customer (OEM) requirements.
Daily operational instructions communicated to managers, supervisors and employees (approx. 75 employees) in the following groups:
                Manufacturing, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Technical Customer Service, Distribution Services and
                Order Management in tandem with Quality Assurance guidelines and Engineering guiding principles.
Manufacturing, Demand Planning & Scheduling
         
          Designed and implemented S&IOP process which recommended supply chain policy, strategies and spend plans.
Sales forecast requirements translated into “off the shelf” finished goods strategies and subsequent implementation.
Instituted Master Schedule plans providing direction to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Quality Assurance. Manufacturing Capacity plans developed to report man-hour requirements, shop floor materials and test equipment.           Build plans designed for industrial, commercial (OEM), medical products and market opportunities.
         
           Lean Manufacturing implementation

1). Utilizing vendor stocking programs and JIT practices realized a 55% improvement in product deliveries and         cost savings of $2,500,000 while using offshore and CM manufacturing facilities.
2). Additional savings: $100K in scrap recover; reduced manufacturing spending ($25K); and savings of $650K in scrap avoidance through EOL support and inclusion in new product design.

Working in tandem with Engineering Services, Monarch Instrument brought to market 200 products on time & under budget.

Inventory Control

                1)  Manufacturing build plans requirements issued for daily, weekly and monthly requirements organized and                controlled through production work order procedures.
                2)  Kaizen program utilized to issue weekly and monthly work requirements
                3)  Daily cycle count performed and results reported monthly. 10 year cumulative results 99.7% accuracy
               
           Materials Management/ Supply Chain

1) 27% improvement in inventory turns within 12 months utilizing MRP program for demand forecasting.     Achieved PPV goal of $350K savings per year during FY’01 through FY’05, additional $250K realized during        FY’08 through FY’00 (cumulative savings)
2) Vendor stocking and JIT programs implemented resulting in a $100K reduction in material costs and    improved vendor delivery performance by 35%. Offshore CM manufacturing facilities were employed             providing a $1,500,000 (10 year cumulative cost savings).

          Distribution Services

                          1)  Consolidated transportation carriers from 3 principals to 1 major and 2 ad hoc or on call services
                       Realized $150,000 reduction in overall operating costs year 1 through year 2
                                        Savings of $350,000 (cumulative) from year 3 through year 7
                                        $150,000 in transportation discounts realized during year 8 through 10

         Order Management and Technical Customer Service

Implemented Order Management reporting module designed to measure, report and provide recovery dates for 24 hour order turnaround and backorder deliveries.
