K12's unique program combines online
technology with traditional content and some of the world's best teaching

provide home schooling lesson plans and material plus provide fully operational
virtual academies to school districts across the country.
As technical manager I oversee the
reports and data warehouse teams.
- Developing
a migration plan to move all database systems to Oracle 11g. This includes
multiple Oracle instance and approximate 30 schemes using Oracle RAC.
- Moving our
existing Oracle CSV file generated system used for Financial
reports/invoices to Oracle EBS Financials.
- Architected
the future roadmap of the K12 School Reporting Environment using Oracle BI
Publisher and Answers. This included creating a prototype and presenting
it to upper management to receive capital funding for the project to allow
K12 to move into a more robust and scalable reporting environment.
- Currently
migrating our existing report infrastructure to Oracle Business
Intelligence (BI). This includes developing subject areas and ad-hoc
reporting capabilities in Oracle BI Answers. Also developed a process to
provide quick and easy reports that can be emailed, delivered to an FTP
server or access via a webpage using Oracle BI Publisher.
- Support a
multiple array of vendors who K12 partners with to provide services to our
students. This includes requirements gathering, prototype design, and
implementing an automated process to provide data to our vendors on there
required schedule.
- Manage all
daily school reporting that includes 20+ daily reports to over 500 schools
daily. These reports provide student progress, attendance and metrics to
our teachers and administrators.
- Manager a
team of database administrators and data warehouse engineers in migrating
the reporting environment for all internal and external K12 reports to
Oracle BI. This includes dashboard creation and automated processes to
delivery data to 3rd party vendors, email reports and CSV file
delivery mechanism for data integration into other K12 systems.
- Using WebObjects created a new login application for our enterprise reporting system. Authentication was
- using our accounts Oracle database and
then permissions for reports was verified against an MS SQL Report Server.
This application was developed to allow for a seamless login process as we
transition from a JAVA based reporting system to MS SQL Reporting Service.
- Designed
and coded a complete new report system that provides teacher, school
management, logistics and finance reports to thousands of customers daily.
This new system allows our customers to view more accurate data and in a
better format then text files. It provides drill-down to more detailed,
interactive charts and graphs. Used Microsoft .NET environment to
design the new report system.
- While
designing and creating the new report system, I supported the existing
report system written in JAVA and SQL.
- Implemented
a data warehouse to store historical data on all students enrolled the K12
system. The first data warehouse combined data from our marketing database
and online school system. It allowed our marketing team to see trends on
how students moved from becoming interested in K12 to becoming fully
enrolled students. The other data warehouse was designed to track the
enrollment history of students in K12.
- Created
forecasting reports for all business units. These were critical reports
used by upper management to schedule materials and employees for the
upcoming school year.
- Integrating
multiple database systems into a single data warehouse as we combine
multiple online education companies into a single environment.
- Provide
all company financial reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly
basis. This includes monthly invoices for our 400+ schools across multiple
business lines.
- Provide
daily information to executive via customized email reports on all SOX and
FERPA related issues that have occurred within the last 24 hours. Also
provide information on current enrollment numbers across all K12 divisions
and project revenue.

Creating a Storm Surge GIS Application using ESRI ArcGIS
(9.3), Php and MySQL. This application calculated the storm surge depths at
designated locations in Charleston County. This application assists
emergency personnel on what areas to evacuate based on storm path, tide and
category of storm.
Designed a common database scheme that stores local
elevation data and NOAA SLOSH data based upon a hurricane’s path, storm
category, and tide at time of landfall. Application was designed so it could
easily be ported to any coastal us location.
Currently awaiting funding from the National Weather Service
to take our fully operational prototype system and put it into production for
the complete Charleston, SC region.

Was a member of the CANES team, the Navy’s spearhead SOA
(Service Oriented Architecture) project, where I served multiple functions on
both the CANES Production and CANES ONR teams. Was Team’s Lead

Performed integration of the main SOA services including
Discovery, Security, Visualization, Mediation, and Messaging, with multiple

Oracle Application server with an Oracle 10g database to create a role mapping

faculty.
Lead software engineer on the
ingestion of all new music content into the Ruckus Service. In my first month,
increased the services track count from 500 thousand to over 1.5 million
tracks. Designed a JAVA/Oracle solution to ingest weekly drops of music from
