ö Recipient
of numerous Corporate, Division, and Outstanding Contribution Awards.
ö Received
and Outstanding Contribution Award for leading
a team to execute the installation of new directory schemes that facilitated
version control and back level design recovery.
ö Attended
Energy Forum at the University of Texas and HAZMAT Forum sponsored by the State of Texas .

|
Independent Contractor
|
2009–present
|
ö Successfully
worked as an independent freelance researcher studying renewable energy. Attended Energy Forums, established direct
communications with the Department of Energy, Wind Watch, Weather Underground,
leading authors of books on weather and energy, and many experts in the field
of renewable energy. Developed tools to export information from DOE databases
for the purposes of creating charts and reports showing trends in renewable
energy. Created a database focused on
electricity derived from windmills and plan to write a paper on this topic in
the future.
IBM Corporation
Dashboard Data Audit & Visualization Project Manager 2005–2009
|
1990-2009
|
ö Successfully
defined, managed the development, and deployed an Audit Tracking Dashboard
System that measured the progress, completeness, and quality of the
microprocessor's designs throughout the development process. Chaired
requirements gathering meetings with design teams to assure that all required
features would be supported by the Audit Tracking Dashboard System. The Audit
Dashboard is credited to having provided a 10% increase in design analysis
productivity and contributed to an estimated saving of over $1.5M. Managed
Communications with Dashboard Customers across 7 IBM locations. Managed
12 developers working at 5 IBM locations and lead the team to delivering a
reporting and data visualization system that pushed data from 3600 network
servers into a central DB2 server. Focused on Tools and Design Methodology
issues for the IBM Power IV to Power VII processor designs, improve design
quality and design productivity by developing plans and strategies to enhance
and improve the process flow and the tools used to design microprocessors. Wrote a comprehensive User Manual that
defined process flow of how to uses of the software applications within the
framework of the methodology to design microprocessors. The Methodology was
recognized and accepted and distributed across all IBM microprocessor design
centers.
ö Managed a
Dashboard based Audit Tracking System that accessed data from over 2000 servers
in 7 design centers to create data visualizations of the reports usually
created by end users. The Dashboard proved to be a productivity tool that
enabled designers and managers to view canned charts, graphs, and reports of
all phases on the design process. Developed the Project Plan, presented plan to
executives and gained approval to proceed. Recruited and hired a team of 12
programmers of which 4 were IBM interns to develop code using JAVA, C, SQL,
DB2, and Eclipse. Developed and gained approval for a DB2 hardware server and a
DBA. Developed a work break down schedule for all deliverables. Wrote detailed
functional specifications with flows and algorithms for all deliverable and
worked day-to-day with the design team. Developed test and deployment plans and
schedules and worked directly with the Dashboard Team to meet project goals.
Lead Methodologist & Project Manager
|
2000–2005
|
ö
ö Developed
strategies and methodologies that were approved at executive levels and
installed throughout the Systems and Technology Division. Examples are design
audit and release criteria, QA and Yield Learning Analysis, Design Data
Management. Designed and documented the function specification of an Audit
system that was based on a Grade Point Average for each stage of the design
process that enabled designers to easily access the GPA value of the
completeness and quality levels of their design deliverables. Rollup features
enabled management to check status at all levels of the design hierarchy. Special
request by management to developed a hierarchical hardware configuration tool
that created data visualization of hardware costs from the system level box
view down to the wafer cost view. The configurator was used to measure the
impact on future chip yield learning on costs throughout the system hierarchy.
Building the configurator required negotiations with Procurement, Finance, and
multiple Manufacturing locations.
IT Data Management Architect/Project Manager
|
1990–1999
|
ö Architected and Project Managed the
implementation of a Design Data Management (DDM) methodology and implementation
plan that was based on business, IT, budget, and security requirements. The DDM
Methodology has been proven effective by providing a template for the quick
start of new projects, providing productivity by giving developers access to initializing
on-demand storage, providing a quick and reliable means to gaining access to
back level data, and providing a set of checks and balances to assure quality
levels are met in each design release. Wrote user guides and conducted
education classes on the uses of DDM applications. The DDM methodology was
implemented across 7 IBM sites engaged in semiconductor design, test, and
manufacturing.
