§ Namco LLC is a pool, patio and
billiards retailer based in Manchester, CT with 40 locations in the northeast
as well as an ecommerce and wholesale division.
§ I started with Namco in November of 2004 as an Assistant Manager
in the York, PA location and was subsequently promoted to Store Manager in
2005. In February 2006 I was transferred to the Harrisburg, PA as Store Manager
to clean up a problem location and rejuvenate the sales and operational level
back to the company standard. I remained as the store manager of the
Harrisburg, PA location until February 2008 at which time I was promoted to
the District Manager of PA, MD and DE.
§ As a District Manager I was responsible for the operations,
personnel, training and sales for 10 stores within the New Jersey, Delaware,
Maryland and Pennsylvania market. Each location was primarily staffed with
three members of management (one store manager and two assistants or key
holders) per location and a staff of from 14 to 20 team members depending on
the season and the location volume rating.
§ Operational responsibilities to include: the proper running and
maintenance of each location, staffing, payroll control, scheduling,
merchandise flow, shrink control, management training, non-sales staff
training, establishing plan-o-grams for each location based on product mix
for the various seasons, and following up on all mandates from the corporate
level to be certain of completion.
§ Sales responsibilities included: establishing budgets and sales
goals, monitoring of trends in sales and making appropriate adjustments,
training of sales staff in each location, establishing individual sales goals
and following up with all sales team members to be certain goals are being
achieved and making adjustments as needed to facilitate high production
levels.
§ Other areas of responsibility included reporting to the various
departments at the corporate level in both written as well as face to face
formats. Departments reported to directly included: the CEO, Executive VP of
Retail Operations, Buyers in all divisions, VP of IT, VP of Operations and
the VP of Logistics.
