TUNING DIGITALLY TUNABLE RF FILTERS USING 80C51 MICROCONTROLLER
Description: The project is aimed at design and development of a test jig to test high quality digitally tunable RF filters. A microcontroller is used to interface a frequency selection switches (push button switches 0 to 9) and the filter. The same microcontroller calculates the tune word and generates the output SDA (Serial Data), SCLK (Serial Clock) and STB (Strobe) signals. Filter module accepts SDA in synchronism with SCL and waits for the strobe signal. Once strobed the filter tunes to new frequency within 10 micro sec. Frequency hopping is an ECCM (ELECTRONIC COUNTER COUNTER MEASURE) technique in which the carrier frequency of transmitter and receiver are changed rapidly to avoid stealth communication and selective jamming. The jig thus designed through this project will be used to verify the tenability, insertion loss and shape factor (steepness) of the filter modules.
