Title : Measurement
and Calculation of TTC ground station performance parameters.

Aim : To
measure and calculate TTC ground stations parameters such as G/T, BER and Link
Margin. The main
aim of these
measurements and calculation of TTC (Telemetry Tracking
Command) station
parameters
is to know the reliability of the ground station and to know the station
performance.
Description : The
parameters that are measured are G/T Measurement, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Link
Margin.
G/T - Receiving System Figure of Merit:
The sensitivity of the ground
antenna system is mainly a function of antenna (G) and system noise
temperature (T).
The G/T of the antenna is a measure of its ability to track the weakest
possible signal in a
given bandwidth.
Bit Error Rate (BER):
The figure of merit for a digital
radio link is its Bit Error Rate (BER). It is the probability that a bit
transmitted over
the link is received incorrectly.
Link Margin
It is the power level threshold that has
to be maintained during the linking process. It is related to BER.
We have both
uplink and downlink margins.
We have
also developed a software using Visual basics to perform the complex
computations
involved in the
measurement of these parameters.
Title : Designing of Remote Control Using PIC 16F84
in real-time application

Aim : The main aim of the project is to design and
develop a remote control that can be used in the real time
applications using the PIC micro controllers.
Description :
In this project PIC is used in both the transmitter and the
receiver. The keypad is connected to the PIC
in the transmitter end. Initially the PICs are programmed using the
assembly language. For every button
pressed, 8
bit data is assigned. When the user presses the button, the PIC transmits the 8
bit data with
the start bit
and the stop bit and will send it serially. At the other end, the PIC collects
the data and
converts the
same from serial to parallel and in the process sets the baud rate for the data
transmission.
The PIC that
is connected to the driver units drives the respective hardware connected to
the same.
