Title                 : ECONOMIC DESIGN OF STATOR CORE FOR TURBO                 GENERATOR

Purpose and Role

  As a mandatory part of my Bachelors’s degree course curriculum, I have successfully completed the project work on “ECONOMIC DESIGN OF STATOR CORE FOR TURBO GENERATOR” at BHEL ,Ramchandrapuram, Hyderabad. My role in the project has been documenting the design features of stator core, laminations and calculations for each grade is guaranteed in terms of maximum core loss. The core loss value is specified at either 1.0T or 1.5T and at either 50Hz or 60Hz. Understanding the technical environment.

  Description:

  In order to minimize Hysterises and Eddy current losses due to magnetic flux, the stator core is made up of cold rolled non-grained oriented thin silicon steel lamination. The main parameters required for the design of stator core are outer and inner diameters of stator, active length of stator, weight of the core, stacking factor, time required to punch each lamination sheet, cost of raw material and bonus.

  The overall project is together used Two thickness i,e at 0.35mm thickness and 0.5mm thickness for different grades we will get different efficiency. Depending on the efficiency we will calculate the overall cost.After calculating the overall cost we will draw the graph between type of material(Grade and Thickness) Vs cost of core. From the graph we will conclude the best material used for Economic Design of Stator Core for Turbo Generator.
