ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
Postgraduate
in Automotive Engineering, Kingston University, London, UK, 2012
Thesis
: “Low Velocity Impact and Crashworthiness Analysis of Engineering
Structures”. The
objective of this theoryis to analyse the response of automotive
engineering structures for varying
impact loads and different internal structural design and study their energy
absorption capabilities of varying parameters.
Core Subjects : Automotive
Structures and Body Design, Advanced Automotive Engineering, Standards and Homologation, Integrated and Advanced CAD/CAM and Computer- Aided
Product Design.
Conclusion : Increased the
energy absorption range of the composite material of varying mass and velocity.
The increase in the thickness of the crash-box material increased its energy
absorption by 10 times. Addition of internal wall and corrugations in the
original crash-box did notalter the external area of the crash-box and it doubled
the energy absorption of the crash-box of varying thickness. The internal-cross
section also decreased the rate of deformation of the crash-box and optimised
its deformation pattern.
Bachelor
in Industrial Engineering and Management, BIT, Bangalore, 2009
Thesis : “Reduction in manufacturing lead time of a Flame Tube of a Dart
Engine Aircraft”
The aim of this
project was to analyse the reasons for the excess lead time in the
manufacturing of a Dart Engine Flame Tube and study a detailed process to
improve the existing lead time.
Core
Subjects : Design of machine
elements I & II, dynamics and kinematics of machinery, manufacturing
process I & II, product design, manufacturing and many more.
Conclusion
: TheSuggestion and implementation of
improved processes and machinery used for these operations helped reduce
inventory time, inspection time and waiting time of the flame tube cycle time. Successfully
brought down the manufacturing time of critical parts from 23.5 hours to 9.31
hours. The actual lead time was also reduced from 45 days to about 36 days.
Finally reduced
lead time, in-process inventory, idle time of component, improved quality and eliminated inspection and deburring operations.
