Project: EPSILON BTS (Release 1.1)
Client: Nokia Siemens Networks
Domain: Application Development
Role: Senior Software Engineer MAR 2006 –MAR 2007
It is the next
release of EPSILON BTS having some enhanced features one of them being DFCA and
ECELL
Responsibilities:
·
I implemented DFCA
as O&M operations of a BTS. Dynamic Frequency Channel Allocation (DFCA) is
a hopping mechanism used to avoid Multipath propagation
in a GSM network It involves configuring DFCA TRX objects after validating
Configuration data received from BSC. I was responsible for the overall
implementation of the feature right from requirement analysis to implementation
and testing.
·
I implemented ECELL
as O&M operations of a BTS. "Extended Cell “feature provides
additional coverage beyond the maximum cell radius of 35 km defined in the GSM
standards. It involves configuring ECELL BTS objects after validating
Configuration data received from BSC. I was responsible for the overall
implementation of the feature right from high-level design to implementation
and testing.
·

Code Complexity: McCabe
Project: EPSILON BTS (Release 1.0)
Client: Nokia Siemens Networks
Domain: Application Development
Role: Software Engineer MAR 2004
-MAR 2006
Description:
Epsilon BTS is a next Generation BTS for 2.5G GSM
Networks. It is supported by Nokia BSS release12. O&M Software supports
system Operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
·
The Management of
Epsilon BTS is done through Element Manager SW, which is developed in Java
Swings and uses Nokia GCS server over TCP/IP to communicate with BTS O&M. I
have worked on the CLIM (client management) module which handles the interface
between System O&M and EM named M_bts. CLIM module written in C (running in
QNX environment) communicates with Element Manager through raw Message buffers
carried over GCS stack. This interface is quite complex in nature because all
the messages are exchanged in byte buffers with TLV coding. CLIM also required
functionality inside System O&M by sending IPC messages to other O&M
modules. I have done the complete SDLC for this interface. Working on this
interface enabled me to learn cross-domain compatibility issues and to develop
debugging skills for identifying error and root cause analysis for large and
complex systems.
·
Documentation for
Low level design, Test Plan and Test Cases for CLIM module.
·
Module and System
Component testing of the CLIM module.
