incorporate changes from their new PBX telephone switch system.
Client:
Telecommunications
Projects: Private Branch Exchange
(PBX) Migration and Public Safety Answering Location Identifier (PSALI) conversion
Function: Developed an audit tracking and integration
application for the transparent migration from an Intecom S-80 PBX to a Nortel
Networks Meridian PBX. This application was created using C++, Visual Basic and
macros from Excel and ACCESS to transfer data from the mainframe to an Excel
spreadsheet. The migration was done in five phases over a three-month period of
time and it affected over 520,000 telephone equipment items. 4 HLLAPI macros
were created to simulate the repetitious procedures needed to handle the
workload: CHANGE, TRANSFER, RENUMBER, and DELETE telephone equipment items. CBOT’s
PSALI methodology had to be restructured in order to handle changes from the
new PBX.

Created an interface
between two training administration systems.
Project: TBLS
Production Business Systems
Function: Redesign the backend of a third party CBOT facilitator system -
National Education Training Group (NETg). The processes of Adding, Updating,
Deleting, Granting, Revoking, Changing of Passwords, and Resetting of Passwords
were redesigned. These changes were relayed to a Microsoft ACCESS database via
HTTP calls to several worldwide NT Servers. I also developed a C++ program that
would interface between the Training Administration System (TAS) and NETg
system. Through TAS a Motorola employee could register for a CBOT NETg course
from any Motorola worksite in the world. ORACLE triggers were used to insert
into specified ORACLE tables. Those tables were watched by UNIX Cron jobs to
run C++ executables that in turn would register that Motorola employee to that
specific NETg course.

Converted two financial
reporting applications from JAM 5 to JAM 7.35.
Projects: Single Source
Dividend (SSD) and Electronic Verification Inquiry and Surveillance System
(ELVIS)
Function: Both SSD and ELVIS applications required
extensive enhancements due to new user requirements. Several screens had to be
created to handle the new requirements. JYACC Application Manager (JAM) is used
for development and data management of the screens and reports that interface
with the end-user. JAM accessed INFORMIX using ODBC drivers. The users would
supply a login and password that were verified and only then were they allowed
run search queries, updating, adding, or deleting data from the INFORMIX
tables. Triggers were implemented for auditing purposes. I also added printing
capabilities for all the screens and made both applications year 2000
compliant.

C, Sockets Programming, and UNIX - Consultant
Established a
socket connection from a firewall server to
multiple host
servers. Either a random number generator or a
load balancing
routine would determine the selection between
these host
servers.
Project: Plug-Gw
Function: I developed a program that would map traffic to
several front-end servers inside a firewall. Either a random number generator
or a load balancing routine would determine the distribution of the socket
connections to the host servers. The host servers were mapped to an external
table that held the Internet address, port number of the connecting servers,
and status of the machine. Then I created a daemon process that would report
load balancing from the host in the external table into a file, so that the
firewall proxy program could use it.

ANSI C, Sockets Programming, Middleware,
HLLAPI, Windows 95, IBM mainframe, and Perl - Consultant
Programmed a
connection between a legacy system and the new Order
Entry system.
Project: OEDI
Function: I helped develop a Middleware application that
would function as an ORB (Object Request Broker) to connect the Distribution
Management system with their legacy mainframe. Using functions off of the new
Distribution Management system during key events issued by the users, certain
information would be sent to the ORB via Sockets connected to a specific port.
The ORB would determine the type of transaction and connect to the legacy
mainframe using HLLAPI macros. Then the data from the IBM mainframe would be
sent to the user using the Socket connections.

Responsible for
creating a trouble ticket interface application
using Remedy as
the GUI and database connections to Oracle.
Function: I developed a trouble ticket application for a
cellular telecommunications corporation that needed to issue trouble tickets
and/or keep track of calls from the customer. The information collected was
parsed via a C++ program to be used among the five other GUI applications.
Around 200 Customer Service Representatives use this application to notify
other departments about the customer’s call either relating about equipment,
billing information, network problems, activation of new services, or general
information. I worked closely with other developmental groups whose
applications were interfacing with ours. I gathered data requirements, product
evaluations to determine the strengths and/or limitations, and was a key
liaison with the users.

client/server methodology and LU 6.2 connectivity for retrieving data from
various servers on a UNIX machine and IBM mainframe.
2) JYACC Application Manager
(JAM)- used for development and data management of the screens that interface
with the end-user.
3) 'C' code was used for
development and is also intertwined with the CTG tools.
4) TSO - used for retrieving
on-line inventory of their steel products.
5) NATURAL 2.0 - programs that
retrieve on-line or batch queries, which 'C' code parses to the end-user.
6) INFORMIX ESQL/C – real-time
database queries.
CRAY
Research, Inc. 8/88 – 12/88
FORTRAN – Employee
Function: I working in the FORTRAN Input/Output (I/O) Library Quality
Assurance group, I measured and evaluated the performance of FORTRAN
element-at-a-time I/O. This project had three variables that would influence
the I/O timing studied:
1) I/O Types (formatted or unformatted)
2) I/O Direction (read or write)
3) Operating System (COS 1.16,UNICOS
3.0, and UNICOS 4.0)
I then designed a program that would
measure the performance of the FORTRAN I/O library routines. The object of this
project was to run these routines' 1, 10, 100, 500, 512, 2000, 2048, 10000, and
10240 times. This program would run ten times and would be recorded in milliseconds
to get an accurate reading. The geometric mean and standard deviation would be
calculated, which would later be put in a graph and report. The measurements
taken would help determine where the strengths and weakness of the new releases
of the operating system.
