Professional Experience
Radisys Engineering
Technician III (2006 –
Current)
With
limited technical guidance undertook key projects with a small team and
completed projects under very tight schedules. Most projects worked on as part
of the design verification team were revenue contributing products.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Member of the Design Verification
Team (DVT) on engineering prototype boards. Perform measurement and
verification of DDR2, DDR3, PCIe buses using high speed scopes. Work closely
with the project engineer when bringing up new prototype boards. Responsible
for a corporate purchasing card and managed the lab for calibration and
material use. Extensive testing on power supplies using electronic loads,
phase/gain testing, transient loading, and purpose built tools. Perform signal
integrity and analysis tests on I2C, SPI, USB, LPC and serial busses using a
1404B scope. Use built in software like JIT3, RT-Eye, Ethernet Compliance, and
USB compliance software.
Tektronix Engineering Technician (1-2006 – 7-2006)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Identifying and correcting
quality issues for the modular product line for video equipment and signal
generation equipment. Standards worked with include: NTSC, PAL, HDVG, and DVI.
Z2 Modeling Engineer (2002 - 2006)
Was the
primary person that scoped out reviewed new projects and set schedule for
project completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Built and worked with Digital and Analog electronic systems to create IBIS
models. Perform connector modeling and development of package model profiles
for high speed SMT connectors using VNA and TDR measurements. Primary tools
were IConnect and Ansoft 2D.
Mentor Graphics Modeling Technician (2000-2002)
While
working at Mentor Graphics I implemented the TDR measurement techniques needed
to extract package values for C-comp on IC packages and helped bring about an
update to the IBIS specification on busswitches. Extended and modified turnkey
software used in house using LabWindows.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with
Digital and Analog electronic systems for the creation of IBIS models. Designing
complex test fixtures used for the creation of electronic models. Use
simulation software ICX and HyperLynx to test and evaluate IBIS models. Develop
connector models using a field solver to find crosstalk and impedance.
Litton Applied Technician IIII (1995-2000)
My dedication
and skill at this company gained me a promotion to Technician III. Working with
the prototype team developing production test stations – mostly military
contracts. Clearance: Secret
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshooting complex analog and digital circuitry down to the component
level. Working with multi-level intricate systems to locate faults and identify
root causes of any failures. I also set up test stations for production
environments and training civilian and sometimes military line staff in a
production environment. Interfacing with government representative and
inspectors to demonstrate that product meets design criteria. Primary work was
on radar warning systems, antenna systems, and platform control systems.
