- During closing of Fort
Monmouth, work with regional mail processing center to migrate users to an
Exchange 2010 environment.
- Manage the Exchange
2003 Enterprise System at Fort Monmouth.
- Maintain and
troubleshoot client/server issues and hardware/software problems.
- Perform system
analysis duties such as collecting and reporting performance data and
network monitoring information of the Exchange environment to maintain a
99.5% operational availability standard.
- Maintain
server/network security in accordance with DOD Information Assurance
Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and the Army's
Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) with analyzer tools such
as STAT and Retina scanners.
- Conduct storage and
directory management on Microsoft Operating System based servers built on
HP and Compaq hardware. Utilize blade
servers, clustering, and SAN technologies including an EVA5000 and EVA6000 for high
availability and a fault tolerant email system.
- Setup Blackberry Enterprise domain to integrate with
Exchange 2003 mail system for 2000 Blackberry users. This included setting up security
policies and approved software configurations.
- Provide Blackberry handheld end user support to Fort
Monmouth client base.
- Implemented blackberry alternative (Apriva, Sensa Mail
running on Windows Mobile operating system).
- Provide server administration duties that include
checking logs, maintaining backups (CommVault and Veritas) and virus definition updates (using
Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition).
- Task leader to PEO IEW&S HQ and PM Navigation
Systems support staff.
- Facilitate move of PEO IEW&S towards Fort Monmouth’s
“Single DOIM” initiative.
- Migrations lead for the Windows NT domain transition to
the Fort Monmouth DOIM’s Active Directory domain.
- Migrations lead for the PEO IEW&S exchange server
transition over to Fort Monmouth’s Exchange site.
- Provide server administration duties that include
Exchange and Blackberry administration, checking logs, maintaining backups
and virus definition updates (using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition).
- Use Update Expert to keep all server and workstations
patches up to date.
- Complete Harris Stat vulnerability testing on SIPRNET
and NIPRNET computers. Apply
patches and fixes to meet IAVA compliance requirements.
- Achieved “Secret” security clearance which allows
access to high security areas.
- Provide user support to the Community domain which
includes resolving complex problems for hardware and software related
issues.
- Task Leader to off hours support staff for the C2Center
(EOC).
- Provide server and desktop support to the C2Center
(EOC) permanent staff and Battlestaff, which includes problem resolution
for hardware, software and Secure Telephone Equipment (STE).
- Provide SIPRNET desktop support to the C2CTR staff and
to the Command Group principals including Commanding General and Chief of
Staff.
- Through the aid of the Enterprise Management System and
Harris STAT, determine which computer systems require security patches and
apply them to meet IAVA compliance requirements.
- Installed secure email products including Defense
Messaging System and Common Access Cards.
- Lead major upgrade of desktop computers from existing
operating systems to Windows 2000 Professional. Created Symantec Ghost images to
facilitate the distribution of the new systems.
- Setup and monitor Symantec Anti-Virus software to help
prevent computer and file infection.
- Setup and maintain Windows NT/2000 web server and Sun
Solaris Oracle server, to include installation, updating and backups.
- Setup Raptor firewall to provide additional protection
to all DCSOPS servers.
- Installed secure email products including Defense Messaging
System and Common Access Cards.
- Completed Level 1 and Level 2 technical training which
has allowed me to become the Alternate Information Assurance Security
Officer (IASO) and the Alternate Information Assurance Manager (IAM).
- Setup installation of / and maintain CAT5 networks at
customer locations, utilizing the latest network operating systems and
connectivity devices.
- Setup network security using proxies, NAT devices and
firewalls.
- Migrate and upgrade existing networks, including
servers (Novell / Microsoft NT), workstations (DOS / Windows
3.1-95-98-NT-2000), connectivity devices (Hubs / Switches / Routers) and
perform administration tasks on this equipment.
- Comcast Cable Internet Service installer, which
involves setting up a proxy servers, DHCP/DNS servers and setting up
clients with internet browsers.
- Conducted Y2K testing at customer sites, produced
compliance reports, suggested and implemented upgrades for hardware and
software.
