Business Modeler for key modules leading a team. The project addresses the need for NYLI (New York Life International), a leading insurance group in the United States of America, to spread its business operations in 7 countries in Asia. Infosys Technologies (India) and Sherwood International (United Kingdom) are development partners in this project. Sherwood is the product vendor of AMARTA, the development environment for the insurance application that will cater to NYLI’s business operations.

AMARTA is a workflow-based environment that has been tailored to suit the needs of the insurance industry. It is design intensive and optimizes development time.

The architecture of the application conforms to a 3-tier model. 
It comprises of
·          A backend tier that includes Oracle 8i and AMARTA. AMARTA is primarily deployed on Oracle and is a collection of base models, tools and business entities.
·          A middle tier that comprises of Oracle and C "cartridges" deployed within the Oracle Web Application Server container. These cartridges encapsulate a minimum level of application logic.
·          A front-end tier that comprises of the web server engine. The web server is Netscape Enterprise Server.
