Engineer/Sql-DBA:
Responsible for 24/7 production application including monitoring of
all machines hardware software and application functions mostly with Sitescope
with other tools plugged in. Most of the
equipment is Windows 2000/2003 HP/Compaq equipment. Responsible for 99.5%
uptime on call scheduling Webtrends reporting hardware repairs equipment
migration to Waltham corporate office along with Migration of full production
environment to new Hosting facility in VA. This includes racking all equipment cabling
loading of operating systems firmware upgrades loading of all software and custom
applications, installing certificates Dns entries F5 configuration for numerous
application pools with some irules. Responsible for moving current production
into corp office to become DR for new production site.
February 1999 - December 1999 - NT
System Administrator: As system admin I started taking over admin of
the production site. This involved supporting, at the time, one product on
multiple sites consisting of 10 NT IIS machines using WWW, FTP, SMTP as the
front end of the product and 3 SQL 6.5 servers and 3 verity search machines as
the backend. I learned how to
troubleshoot the application and installed and maintained other products as
they came along including a wlbs cluster, which now runs five other
products. I used products such as
Diskeeper, Webtrends, Compaq Insight Manager, and Sitescope to monitor and
maintain the machines at Exodus Communications.
I was responsible for racking and cabling equipment that came into
Exodus. I was also responsible for
backing up the three original sites with Backupexec 2000 and writing scripts to
dump databases scheduled with AT command scheduler to be finished before my
backups every day. I did scripting for
other tasks to be run on the productions sites and generally made sure the
sites stayed up. Aside from production,
which took up most of my time, I also have approximately 30 NT boxes at
corporate headquarters which consisted of mainly IIS, FTP, SQL Mail and Domain
equipment. I also have a test machine
for SQL for development to use when they could not get to the QA site to do
testing and for myself to learn more about SQL and to try out restoring
databases in preparation for the real thing, which I used a time or two.
October 1998 to February 1999 - Help Desk: Maintained
100 in-house users and 25 roaming users.
Installed and configured pc’s and laptops with Win95 and NT. Repaired pc’s and laptops, troubleshoot
application and network issues, setup user accounts and mail accounts,
implemented ghost 5.0 to make images of laptops to cut down on setup times and
standardize laptop setups, implemented rollouts of software packages like
office 97 and Norton anti virus.
Lewtan Technologies, May 18, 1998 - June 9, 1998, Contractor
PC/Lan Tech:
Configure new computers with Win95, NT, Office 97, FoxPro, and Macafee
Antivirus; some of these systems are dual boot.
Install network cards and set all of these systems up on the
network. Troubleshoot hardware conflicts. Setup of a server running RAS, SQL; and
setup an additional server as a BDC also running RAS. Helped to install a network printer to be
used as part of a fax server.

Design and build custom computers for clients; repair and upgrade
computers, including hard drives, motherboards, CPU’s, video cards, modems,
tape backups, CD-ROMs, scanners, memory, and other assorted components. Troubleshoot computers including installing
