NGS is a subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc. – the largest
health insurance company in the country. I am responsible for writing,
editing and managing technical proposals for Health Information Technology
opportunities with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the
Department of Veterans Affairs. I have served on or managed 12 successful
proposal teams, generating $700 million in revenue for the company. This
includes interpreting complex documents, developing solutions based upon
government regulations and managing diverse teams to write accurate,
compelling marketing copy for proposals. My duties also include meeting
regularly with government contracting officials and potential business
partners to discuss opportunities and develop solutions. I also created the
company’s first opportunity pipeline, managing the company’s opportunity
review process and participating on the Long Range Plan committee. I also
managed the selection and implementation of Salesforce.com as the
department’s customer relationship management application. In many instances,
I have performed these functions working from a home office in a virtual
office environment.
Other duties include managing the company’s library
of historical responses and developing content for other marketing and communications
materials, and creating graphics and templates using Adobe Creative Suite and
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio) products. I
also conduct research on opportunities and competitors. In addition, I
created the Business Development Stylebook, based on the Associated Press
Stylebook and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ internal
stylebook, to help proposal writers and subject-matter experts write proposal
responses using a consistent style.
