Additionally, Jupiter exposes quick access controls for commonly used

Design Engineer, Emdeon – Nashville, TN (June 2009 – June 2011)

Subject matter expert for Oracle
Enterprise Linux, and highest level of escalation for all Linux related
technology issues.

Standardized, documented, and then
automated Oracle Enterprise Linux deployment and configuration processes,
delivering a multi-site server deployment solution which reduced the time to
deliver fully patched, preconfigured servers from 6 hours to 6 minutes per
server. Standardized configurations are
version controlled using subversion.

Designed, documented, and then
implemented an Active Directory (AD) integration solution utilizing Likewise
Open. All new servers are deployed as AD
member servers, domain groups are utilized for access control. Documented a migration plan for pre-existing
servers currently being executed by our offshore support team.

solution utilizing puppet, documented and then implemented the solution. Servers receive a standard puppet
configuration file and automatically configure based on assigned
classification. Configurations are

facility using syslog-ng, and then developed and delivered a simple access

Improved availability of services
through development of a utility in VB .NET which connects to a host, and after
a defined number of retries performs actions defined on the command line. This tool has been used to build the first
geographically dispersed fail over solution for an application that did not
support clustering requiring 99.99% availability. This software is supported on both Windows
and Linux servers.

Created simple Windows utility in
VB Script to automate remote software installation eliminating the manual
effort of logging into each server to perform software installation.

Documented Windows 2003 server
specification, then automated the installation and configuration of Windows
Servers through a combination of Altiris and VBScripts reducing deployment time
by up to 8 hours per server.
