EXPERIENCE

Wells Fargo,
Charlotte, NC
·
Acted as lead database
developer on conversion of SNAPSHOT application. Rewrite of legacy application to permit finer
grained control over which accounts were reconciled. Project was completed under intense
pressure because previous team had attempted and failed at rewrite; only a
three month window to complete project before corporate conversion
event. Leveraged existing code base
and made modifications to facilitate new features and to add more robust
error handling and automated failure recovery.
·
Reduced processing time of
General Ledger Extract process by 90%.
GL Extract application is source of all data for reconciliation
platform. Delays in extract were
causing missed deadlines downstream.
Quickly analyzed package and determined key areas where performance
could be improved without prolonged development effort. Changes were quickly made and moved into
production which resolved problem.
·
Developed SSIS package for
loading trial balance files to General Ledger database in order to remediate error-prone
and difficult to maintain c# application.
Package is responsible for loading around 80 files daily. While each file was supposed to follow common
format, many did not, so package was setup to facilitate a number of data
lookups and one-off conversions to standardized the data before being loaded.
·
Created/enhanced numerous
SSRS reports to support internal business users and support team to monitor
various processes.
·
Modified various SSIS
packages used in GL extract to process more efficiently in terms of time and
subdividing output files to facilitate downstream applications.
·
Provided training in SSIS and
Transact-SQL to support team to enable them to help themselves and provide
better service. Greatly reduced
problem tickets which were negatively impacting area performance.
Optcapital,
·
Converted SQL Server 2000 DTS
packages to SQL Server 2005 SSIS.
·
Migrated SQL Server 2005 to
2008.
·
Enhanced automated overnight
data feed and nightly processing process, replacing Windows scheduler and
some DLLs with SSIS package incorporating email notification identifying if
and where problems arose and data driven model to support multiple databases.
·
Created SSIS/SSRS system to
collect data feed and nightly processing results from all the production, QA
and development SQL Servers and produce report identifying results to
facilitate maintenance.
·
Created SSIS system based on
customized data objects to emulate data driven subscriptions (feature of SQL
Server Enterprise which we lacked) to suppress delivery of empty reports both
internally and to external clients.
·
Created numerous SSRS reports
to support internal business users, external clients and IT staff, including
use of system tables to monitor timing and destination of SSRS subscriptions.
·
Created data dictionary
application to allow us to enter business definitions of tables and fields in
system tables along with stored procedure facilitating IT documentation and
development by allowing searches from a multitude of perspectives.
·
Eliminated many
instances of hard to maintain dynamic Transact-SQL in stored
procedures with table function converting comma delimited list of IDs
into a table used in JOINs.
·
Replace
·
Maintain front end
application for NQDC accounts written in ASP classic, Javascript and VB
script.
