EXPERIENCE

Satellite Communications Technician, USMC (September, 2011 - Current)
  • Maintained the AN/TSC-156 and AN/USC-59 satellite terminals down to the circuit card.

Automated Test Equipment Programmer, USMC (July, 2010 - April, 2011)
  • In 6 months, wrote, tested, and deployed 5 complete programs that perform a full operations check for software defined radios. Radios tested: AN/PRC-117F, AN/PRC-152, AN/PRC-150, AN/VRC-103, and AN/VRC-110.
  • Reduced the time to test a ground combat radio from 2 hours to 7 minutes, saving the Marine Corps $323,218 in labor costs over the first year.
  • Saved the Marine Corps $635,715 in contracting costs by writing all the code myself.
  • In 3 weeks, produced 80 minutes of training videos for the Marine Corps Communications and Electronics School at a total cost of $20.
  • Released 22,316 lines of Lua Source code on the Forge.mil website. Representatives from all 4 branches of the United States military have since joined the project.

Microminiature Repair Supervisor, USMC (May 2009 – June 2010 / May 2011 - Current)
  • Saved $160,420 in replacement costs by repairing damaged circuit cards.
  • Instructed 400 Marines on test equipment, troubleshooting techniques, soldering, electrostatic discharge, electronics theory, and network administration.
  • Repaired coffee damaged keyboard with ground pencil lead and scotch tape.

Microwave Technician Supervisor, USMC (March, 2009 – May, 2009 / May 2011 - Current)
  • Supervised 10 technicians in the repair of $1,500,000 microwave radios down to the individual electronic component.
  • Setup and managed a network and server running Microsoft Server 2003 to maintain a local copy of the entire technical publications library of the Marine Corps.

Platoon Training NCO, USMC (May, 2008 – February, 2009)
  • Built and maintained an Access database tracking all training, duty status, medical status, gear issue, and emergency contact information for a platoon of 116 Marines.

AutoCAD Drafter / Alarm Technician, Knight Security, Simplex Grinnell, Others (1999 - 2007)
  • Discovered a critical firmware flaw in a $2,300 Security Camera that caused intermittent failures in a 22 camera installation that only occurs during cold weather.
  • Found an erroneous calculation in a fire alarm manufacture’s Excel spreadsheet that could potentially cause a failure of the alarm in event of fire.

  • Skilled at circuit and signal flow analysis with schematics and technical documentation.
