Operational & Equipment Enhancements:
·         Increased processing rate by 50% to 3,000 lbs/hr, while eliminating 4 hours of changeover time and minimizing downtime, leading all aspects of engineering activities to replace extruder feeder.
·         Replaced antiquated depuck robot causing excessive downtime, leading all aspects of project from vendor selection to new robot start-up; achieved seamless implementation.
·         Enhanced fines collection system, directing redesign of piping layout with multiple new additions; provided system flexibility and automatic recycling of fines, and enabled discharge of fines to bags.

·         Designed new dust collection system to replace oversized unit; cut electrical consumption by 75%, compressed air consumption by 90%, and averted $70K re-bagging cost.

·         Eradicated need for chemical treatments of boiler room water, replaced process with Siemens carbon filter and water softener; enabled RO water processing at 100 GPM.

Coordinated and led size reduction group comprised of 4 operations in 10M lb/year plant on 3-shift 5-7 days/week basis: Grinding, Classification, Blending, and Screening. Directed support engineers, maintenance, and industrial personnel.

·         Instrumental in making plant extremely profitable, qualifying 4 additional products, resolving processing and equipment issues, and achieving all yield, rate, and uptime targets.
·         Optimized entire operation, minimizing downtime and scrap to meet plan and schedule.
·         Increased rates and yields of operations to achieve mature plant levels.

Major Contributions:
·         Started up, qualified, and delivered state-of-the-art 2nd process line to meet production requirements of 2nd product; included determining capabilities and settings, and equipment problem solving.
·         Resolved major production issue regarding additive blender discharge plug valve failure that regularly shut down production on 2 critical 2,000 lb/hr lines, determining root-cause, and creating new fixture.
·         Performed key role in developing new system which improved 1,000 lb blender system reliability, and eliminated bad batch scrap and downtime, supporting K-tron feeder upgrade project; project was vital in developing key relationships with Benham Group, Boldt Construction, and Dane Electric.
