Con-Way Enterprise Services, Portland, Oregon                                                       June 2007 – July 2010
Network Technician
Part of a three person team responsible for support of the Logistics portion of our company which for me primarily involves international customers.  It is our responsibility to work with a project manager to determine the circuit and hardware requirements of new sites and determine the best course of action to deploy equipment to meet the customer’s requirements.  This includes multiple WAN circuits for redundancy, deployment of routers, firewalls, switches, and a full wireless deployment involving controllers and AP’s.  Because of our involvement with other companies we also have expertise in setting up Business-to-Business solutions to provide secure access to business partners.  I am also tasked by my Manager and Team Lead with “floating” between Menlo and Freight, to assist in whatever capacity I may be needed for.
Key Contributions:
§  Primary knowledge base for wireless deployments and troubleshooting for both Menlo and Con-Way Freight.
§  Responsible for administration and maintenance of ACS and WCS servers
§  Part of a two person team responsible for testing, developing, and making recommendations for wireless deployments domestically and internationally.
§  Integrated Cougar Logistics in Singapore giving us secure access to their systems while restricting their inbound access allowing us to safely bring their systems up to our company standards.
§  Currently working on project to integrate Chic Logistics in China into Menlo Logistics, through use of three remote DMZ locations in China.
§  Assisted in the conversion of 80 domestic sites from Frame-Relay to MPLS, and 3 international locations from Frame-Relay/ATM to MPLS.
§  Completed LAN Hardware refresh of 32 domestic and 6 international locations, with about half of all locations requiring a site visit to complete install.  This project also moved the sites from flat LAN’s to VLAN architecture at an estimated project expense of $400,000.
