File and Content Senior Technical Consultant
·
As a Senior
Technical Consultant, on a daily basis I utilize my skills and training in HDS,
VMware, and other industry leading products to support architecture,
implementation, migration, disaster recovery, and education efforts on behalf
of clients
·
Projects
include rapid deployment of Hitachi Network Attached Storage (HNAS) clusters to
support mission critical file services for medical, financial, manufacturing,
government sector, and other types of clients.
During these HNAS deployments, I have become familiar with several other
HDS products including VSP, AMS 500, 1000, and 2500, Hitachi Dynamic
Provisioning (HDP), Device Manager, USPV, and USPVM. I also consistently create high quality
documentation for end users as well as the occasional internal solution guide. My particular area of expertise is HNAS
MetroClustering.
·
Recently I have
achieved recognition from the HDS GSS team leadership, and attended Barn
Raising #3 conference at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl. Additionally, I have received recognition on
numerous occasions from both end clients and account teams for resolving
complex issues and turning around customer perception issues resulting in
revenue retention of approximately $5,000,000.
VMware Federal 01/2008
– 08/2010
GSS
File and Content Senior Technical Consultant
·
As a full-time,
traveling/remote employee for SBS Inc. my duties were to support VMware
Federal, a division of VMware Inc.
Utilizing my skills and training in VMware and Microsoft Exchange to
support architecture, implementation, migration, disaster recovery, and
education efforts on behalf of clients
·
Projects have
ranged from architecture, design and implementation of full scope solutions
involving complete rebuilds of Active Directory to support a virtualized
Exchange 2010 implementation for a state college including infrastructure
upgrades, new hardware deployment, standing up a SAN, host deployment, building
the virtual infrastructure, and deploying Exchange 2010 across three virtual
machines.
·
As part of a
team dedicated to the support of GCSS’s platform modernization effort I
utilized my skills, knowledge, and integrity towards fulfilling the unique
needs of the governmental agencies in standing up a VMware HA/DRS solution at a
Defense Information Systems Agency location to be the flagship for efforts
around the globe. This work involved dedicated
support, architectural acumen, and patient guidance of System Administrators in
best practices. This effort involves
four separate environments and five clusters at the base site, and is likely to
expand to about fifty hosts among the primary and secondary sites. I have earned valuable recognition from the
customer and VMware Inc. for roles played on this project.
·
I performed a
VMware Health Check for the National Cancer Institute (NCI), part of the
National Institutes for Health (NIH).
During this effort I provided both, technical guidance to on-site
technicians, and advice to senior management on best practices moving
forward. I helped NCI’s management
formulate their strategy for Disaster Recovery (DR), and determined several
scenarios for the most cost efficient use of their current and near future
infrastructure.
·
In further work
with VMware Federal, I kicked off a large scale effort for a new bureau of the
Department of Homeland Security. Within
this effort I planned, designed, architected, implemented, and secured a VMware
Infrastructure framework to be used as the backbone of the overall Network
