to the controller layer of an in house publishing web application for Memec
(now Avnet) a prominent multinational semiconductor company. Performed debugging and revising of code on a
JSP/Servlet based Web application for a subscription resource site for loan
officers called Loan Toolbox. Did
JavaScript coding for a JavaScript driven tutorial on an in-house application
for Granite Construction, a well established civil construction company based
in Watsonville, California . Performed extensive Q.A testing on various
projects. Wrote several stored
procedures for SQL 2000 databases to transfer data from testing to production
databases.
Academic Research
A.I Education:
Worked at Loyola Marymount University in
collaboration with department chair, Dr. Stephanie August, on a Web based
application designed to facilitate learning and application of autonomous
agents/expert systems. Application is
oriented around a classic A.I test environment known as the “Wumpus World”. Project was inspired by the WISE project
developed at the Computer Science Department at the University
of Texas , Arlington .
Project pursued with permission from computer science faculty at U.T
with future collaboration between the schools as a goal.
Semantic Web: Extensive research in the area of the Semantic Web in combination
with Web Services and their possible application in business. Also, researched possible application of
Semantic Web technologies in the area of Computer Science education. Continuous study of Semantic Web technologies
such as RDF, OWL, Protégé and how they can be applied to salient Semantic Web
issues such as ontology mapping and ontology integration.
General A.I/Expert Systems: In depth study of agent architectures, search
algorithms, logic and
inference, development of expert systems. Particular interest in JESS and using it for
various expert
system implementations. Arranged for department wide license of JESS
to further study of expert
systems in artificial intelligence
curriculum.
