Duties:
Responsibilities or the Gardening and Maintenance
of various schools in and around the San Fernando and Los Angeles area. My
duties included performing turf and lawn care activities, such as fertilizing,
aerating, weeding, reseeding, plant maintenance, sprinkler repair and operation
and servicing of power equipment.
Accomplishments:
One of my accomplishments happen on May 12, 2011, I
notice the lawns turning brown and the planter around the front office at Hale
Middle School were dry, I went to the water time clock to find that the time
clock was not working. I try to fix this problem, but the time clock would not
keep a program. So I went to the Plant Manager of the School, to advise him of
the problem and to make a troubled call. This was back in May. On my next visit
to the school I notice that nothing was done about the time clock. I went to
the Plant Manager again, to tell him to make another call. On June 23, 2011, I
again notice that nothing was done again. Mr. Rios, (Horticulture Teacher at
Hale M.S.), inform

that he has a twelve station time clock in the Horticulture area, that he was
not using, and that I could used that one. But I had two problems with this
clock. Problem 1 was that I needed an 18 station time clock, and the clock I
was going to replace it with was a 12 station and it was too big to fit in the
space where it was suppose to go. Problem 2 was that I needed an 18 station and
all I have is a 12 station time clock. There is a another time clock in the
rose gardener that will fit in the space where the broken 18 station time is
and the time I got from the Horticulture area, and the time clock from the rose
gardening area will fit where the broken time was. The next problem was that I
need an 18 station time clock and I only have a 12 station time clock. So I
rewire the time clock so two planter beds wound come on at the same time. I did
this until I had all the station working again. I inform the Plant Manager that
all of the sprinklers at the school site are working again. He was very happy
to hear that news.
