Project Summary: Support testing, delivery, and
acceptance of the Network Common Operational Picture (NetCOP) systems, also
known as Netcool, that was deployed as part of the CITS Situational Awareness
Modernization Program (SAMP). The SAMP system was specifically charged
with improving reliability, enhancing technical performance, and providing a
consolidated presentation layer at the Integrated Network Operations and
Security Centers (I-NOSCs), as well as web views for the 624th Operations
Center.
· Responsible for providing on-site
support (sustainment, training, troubleshooting, capability enhancements, etc.)
for the newly deployed Netcool system, which includes the Tivoli Integrated
Portal (TIP).
· Supported government acceptance
testing by serving as the first line of approval with regards to customer
change requests that could potentially negatively affect the outcome of tests
being conducted at remote sites. Additionally, was also charged with performing
troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and taking corrective actions upon
approval, with regards to any issues that may have resulted in the failure of
any tests that were conducted on the Netcool suite of applications.
· Developed standard operating
procedure (SOP) documents for the Netcool applications that were part of the
new SAMP system.
· Assisted with the development of
probe rules, and ObjectServer automations.
· Assisted the customer in the
development of Web GUI pages that included maps and iFrame based Active Event
Lists (AELs).
· Provided guidance to the customer
with regards to their plans for limiting access to events and tools within
Netcool.

Summary:
Install, configure, integrate, and support deployment of an Operation Support
System (OSS) solution, which provides a set of integrated applications that
enables DTS-PO to rapidly deploy new telecommunications services at much higher
efficiencies. DTS-PO manages and implements a global DTS Network to provide
responsive, reliable, secure, and cost-effective telecommunications services to
its global customer base which includes nearly 50 distinct U.S. Government
departments and agencies residing at over 260 locations worldwide.
· Worked to deploy, configure, and/or
synchronize disaster recovery and development instances of Netcool applications
(i.e. Precision IP, Impact, Omnibus, Probes and Gateways) with previously
deployed highly customized production instances.
· Worked to reduce the amount of
events within the Netcool Object Server by updating probe rules and
reconfiguring Netcool applications in an effort to provide a clearer picture of
the network’s current status to NOG users.
· Supported the addition of new
clients to the DTS network by configuring Netcool applications to monitor and
report on network devices at these new sites.
· Provided daily O&M support of
all Netcool suite (i.e. Omnibus, Webtop, Proviso, Precision IP) software to
ensure they were fully functional and available to support DTS-PO’s mission.
· Worked with IBM support to resolve
any Netcool application anomalies.

Netcool applications upon management/client approval in order to resolve the long
list of issues the client was experiencing due to known bugs.

Definition (SQD) thresholds.

of Cacti 0.8.7d, with a MySQL database, and integrated AD user
authentication. Created graphs for various types of devices based on imported
