Analyst Responsibilities
· Lead a team
of three Systems Analysts that were tasked out with the 24x7x365 remote
monitoring of servers within a customer’s Data Center . The team was responsible for the Systems
Administration, alert response, patch management and monthly server analysis
for over 500 servers. The analysis
would be completed by generating monthly trend, capacity and performance
reports using CA eHealth / LiveHealth for all servers and then verifying these
servers were operating within expected thresholds. Any server that repeatedly exceeded
thresholds would be flagged for additional analysis.
· Regular
meetings were held to develop and maintain strong relationships with our
customers so that we could insure overall satisfaction with our service
offering was being achieved. These
meetings would keep us informed of what is currently going on at the customers
site as well as what future projects we could be of possible assistance with
that would further increase our footprint within their organization.
· Each
customer had their own Change Management process that was strictly adhered to.
· Submit
monthly RFC’s for all the sites the team monitors.
· Generate monthly
/ quarterly / yearly reports for customers (Trend, Capacity and Performance
evaluations)
· Compile
quarterly reports for sites that I am the primary contact for.
· Assisted in
the migrations of over 2000 servers from CA Unicenter to Nimsoft monitoring solution.
· Responsible
for all HIS server builds and support in Siemens ACO environment.

consult for all clustering related issues pre-windows 2008.

and documentation of new software products to be possibly used by the

Network Analyst Responsibilities
· Project and Technical lead for the development of a brand
new service offering called Advanced Network Monitoring and Management. This project had changed hands five times in
five years and was never completed until I had taken ownership. Proper communication between varying
departments within Siemens was the key to completing this project. After only a couple of months, a brand new service offering was made
available for ESM customers that allowed
Siemens to actively monitor a customers network devices and alert when
necessary using CA LiveHealth. Trend,
Performance and Availability reporting was also included in this service offering using CA
eHealth along with the analysis of the data from these reports.
· Both the Project and Technical Lead for “Field Office
Networks” project. Effectively lead a
small team of Network Analysts that spent six months accumulating information
related to over forty Siemens Field Office Networks. Identifying switches and routers, analyzing
monitoring information, defining processes that will be used for both daily
maintenance as well as a break fix situations.
Monthly reporting is used to monitor the immediate health of each
network. Quarterly reporting is used to
promote recommendations for changes to the network in the areas of hardware,
capacity planning and performance summaries.
· Coordinating and performing SNA to HIS2006 migrations with
Siemens external customers. Also
assisted when requested to support and troubleshoot HIS related issues for
these customers.
· Systems administration responsibilities in the CNS/NPP lab.
· Installation, configuration and support of Windows 2000 and
2003 servers.
· Transitioning responsibilities for the relationship with
AT&T regarding our SNX-WAN to a new division of Siemens.
· Troubleshooting LAN/WAN related issues.

Manager during his absence.
·
Leader of a team of Systems Engineers and
Technicians that was responsible for 200+ Dell NT/2000 servers, across two separated
domains as well as all the applications that were running on those
servers. Provided additional assistance
to other sites within the organization when needed.
·
Mentor, coach and educate junior staff to
assist in their development with the company.

Coordinated both large and small scale IT
related projects and assigned personnel to complete them.
·
Senior engineers from each department within
IT as well as Facilities and Physical Security
were teamed together to design a new Data Center in Glen Mills, Pa. This new Data Center
was going to be used to replace one located in Wilmington , DE
and would host all of the hardware for Client Server, Networking,
Telecommunications, Information Security and Physical Security. This Data Center
would include redundant A/C units, multiple power sources, raised floor,
extensive CAT6 cabling, fiber optics, fire suppression, environmental
monitoring and a completely separate room to house the UPS. Two large scale generators were also put in
to insure that the Data
Center would always have
power. These generators were tested on a
monthly basis.

Upon physical completion of the Data Center ,
all of IT was migrated to this new Data
Center and was fully
operational within 36 hours.
·
Global Project Lead for License Management /
Hardware Inventory project. This
project’s goal is to create databases for both software licensing and hardware
inventory. Upon completion, all related
data will be viewable via the departments Intranet page.
·
Local project lead of a global tape backup
project. In charge of both software and
hardware selections as well as extensively negotiating the vendor costs
associated with that project. Tested and
entered into production a separate Gigabit LAN dedicated to the backup
process. Backups saw a drastic reduction
in the time needed to complete allowing us to once again comply with FDIC
regulations.

Global lead for implementation of McAfee E
Policy Orchestrator across six domains for roughly 750 servers, using Netshield
4.5, and 5000 workstations, using Virus Scan 4.5.1. Responsible for training an
Engineer/Technician in each location to work with EPO. Before this project was implemented, virus
scanning had been practically non existent on servers and workstations
throughout the organization.

Software licensing and hardware management. Developed and implemented systems and
procedures to insure that the company was compliant with all software licensing
needs..
·
Successfully migrated domain controllers,
application and file servers to new hardware.

Successfully migrated 90% of server operating
systems from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000.
